Well, it is 00:28 now and my A level results should be through this morning...and I am bricking it. My whole life depends on the next few hours.

So, for when they come through, what did you all get? And, how do you all feel being in this situation? I feel pretty bad ATM as it is either uni or the army and all will be revieled at about 09:00AM this morning.

EDIT- Well, I got A(law), B(psychology), C(sociology) and C (history). I'm happy with that:) Now I know I'll get my loans to buy a new xbox.

When choosing between UNI and the army, the University of Northern Iowa is a fine school with a good basketball team. Go with them.

I too am awaiting mine, although I'm not heading to uni straight away this year I plan on going next year, but right now I'm pretty nervous. Although there's not anything we can do now but wait.

*Bricked.

Well if I have less than wanted, I can resit them so it's not as bad. But my parents spent ALOT on extra tuition for me to get A's and I feel I've really let them down. Except my Dad seeing as when you mention anything Education related he goes apeshit about me getting A's because they spent so much money! And what I don't understand is that I did my best on my exams and thats all I CAN do. My best. No amount of telling me off can change that.

Edit: Bricking it was rightfully done. I got DUUU. I fucking suck!

Well, the best thing I can say is to find some way to take it off of your mind. Worrying isn't going to do anything but stress yourself out, so there's really no point in it. Though I've never actually been in quite that experience, as the highest exam result I've had was the AP exams. Not quite as high-profile, but still enough to cause a bit of worry.

Seriously, try to relax. Almost every school everywhere gives you loads of information about uni and higher education, but very, very little about anything outside of that. You're led to believe that apprenticeships are for idiots so you don't wanna do that, getting a job seems too scary...

I'm at university and, I gotta tell you...it's not all that it's cracked up to be. It's not the end of the world if you don't get in, there's plenty of things to do; learn a skill, learn a trade, get an online qualification...seriously, the world will not end. I know it's scary because you aren't given much info/help on the matter, but honestly...speaking from experience, it's pretty easy to get into uni these days. It's better to go at the moment, because the job market sucks, so it'll give you something to do for the next 3 years. But your priorities will change, you'll probably fall out of love with your current "ideal" career ideas (I wanted to teach, don't want to now)...

Good luck though. If you did your best, you'll have nothing to worry about. That goes for everyone waiting for results.
It's not the end of the world if you don't get the results you wanted.

Meh, I couldn't give less of a flying toss, really. I know I've failed, and I've also dropped all my subjects anyway. (^^) What I am nervous/excited for is The Expendables, which, by rights, should be the best film ever made, so I hope it's at least decent.
Just got 'em: B, E, C, and fail in Music theory.

good luck man ^^ i remember the feeling. . . doesn't dull with age, sorry to say :p I think i felt pretty much the same as you did - i also had the whole weight of my family's success to live up to. . . fun.

i think i got 2 A's and a B, can't be sure though - one positive thing to say is that they mean shit all as soon as you get to uni :) 'long as you get the entry requirements, it's a ticket to a better tomorrow. . . or something. . .

EDIT: *fumbles around in the arts industry instead of using his degree that he worked 21 years of his life to obtain*

If you could enlighten me... What are these A- Level exams. Are they a private school thing, or just really advanced tests for certain subjects.

They are what people from England do between school and university.

I don't know what results I got, but I was greeted with a message telling me my Uni place was confirmed when I logged into UCAS. So that was nice.

I hated the idea of having to take more tests, and took courses at both college and Uni that were constantly assessed rather than determining your future in an hour sitting in a deathly quiet hall. It sounds petty I know, but when I look where it's lead me I'm now creating game art...
