I would like to know people's thoughts on Left 4 Dead 2.Mainly, is it worth the full $60 price, or should it have been a game add-on for L4D 1.

Ussually I'd tell people to stop complaining but yeah, this doesnt seem like a 60 dollar game. It should go down fairly quickly. But hey, demo was good, and as long as it improves slightly from the last game it should be good.

The thing is, I absolutely loved L4D, and L4D2 actually looks better. It also looks like I can relate to the characters a little better (I mean, when it comes down to it, who the hell WOULDN'T want to be Coach?! I'm not even black, and he's the most appealing character ever thought up!) I would definitely buy it, despite it's criticisms.

Pshht... $60? I got it for $45. But I feel that if EA weren't involved, then it probably would be DLC for L4D, although the game is definitely worth $60. I hate publishers.

New weapons, three new special infected, four new survivors, 5 new campaigns, 2 new game modes(with maps for all...) is hardly free DLC.



L4D2 is very fun. A lot more fun than L4D1, and a lot more polished. My only gripe is BOT ai, but that's not much of an issue as it's a multiplayer game.

i would say I thought it would be almost exactly like the first one, and even then I wanted it. Now I am extremely surprised, and in my opinion, definitely worth $60

It's harder to design maps for L4D than TF2. In my opinion at least.

Just because TF2 has gotten amazing DLC doesn't mean every game should be set to it's standards.

L4D2 is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GAME THAN L4D2.

I've grown up with the old-school games, so DLC to me is basically the nicest thing I've ever seen a gaming company do...ever. They're basically giving out free handouts because...? Because they think WE WOULD ENJOY THEM. It's the biggest birthday gift in the world, with no strings attached!

So when people start complaining about NOT getting DLC?...the game's still perfectly good. That's why people bought it. Louis, Zoey, Bill, and Francis are still being played, and more freebies will be out for them. Is it so wrong for Valve to want to try something that is new/differet enough to warrant a new project? They put in the hard work, then you complain about not getting it for free.

Lack of expandibility indicates design flaws. If every inch of your level requires all sorts of Director Nodes and lighting hints and etcetera etcetera, it means you're making an extremely conrolled and quote unquote "cinematic" experience. The whole point of the AI director is that things are more dynamic on their own, so the need for maps to be so utterly complex baffles me. Either way, it's not an excuse. Plus, they already said they would release new content for L4D, such as new maps, monsters and weapons. So don't respond to an earlier promise with "Well ALL OF A SUDDEN it's not feasible."

The ironic part is most of the people complaining about L4D2 happily bought MW2.

Maybe the reason they are angry about paying for L4D2 is because they dropped $60 on MW2?


Gabe Newell hardly speaks accurately for valve, katana, which is funny because he's the CEO. And you've got crash course and survival mode, that's more free stuff than any other company has given me.
