I want a Jade Empire 2! And yeah, I agree, more exploration would be nice. But to be honest, I think technical limits was the problem - it seemed fine to me, about as much as the KotoR games.
I can only hope that Bioware returns to the Jade Empire franchise when they finish the Mass Effect trilogy. There is so much that can be built upon the original's foundation.

Evil Genius was a game that was fun for the first few hours but after awhile it became clear had lots of potential that they never quite reached. You'd have to play the game abit to get my rants...

The hotel add ons in that game to keep your base from prying eyes felt really tacked on and didn't do shit but drain funds.

The evil quests you did are hilarious by text description but that's all you get, a text description. You rarely get any special radio messages for the evil deeds you do, you can club baby seals to death on live TV or kidnap scientists and you get the same generic radio announcement about evil organizations being on the rise.

Also the game at one point gives you a quest to kidnap some monkey to give to your scientists to create (I'm not joking) flying monkeys. But due to some coding error or something after you kidnap the monkey you don't get to do anything. The scientists never give you flying monkeys and you just have a caged monkey sitting in your base for all eternity.

Mass Effect. God so much wasted potential there, I only hope ME2 will redeem this franchise.

Infamous.

It was good, but not great. The good/evil is so elementary. The urban exploration is pretty lack luster, but not bad still. The fighting is a 3rd person shooter with special powers instead of special weapons. Not a bad game, just so much potential.

Star Wars:Battlefront II. They could've had much bigger space battles and ground wars, but overall I didn't get a sense of war, more of a small skirmish.
Agreed. Have you seen the trailer for Battlefront III though? Looks awesome. The thing that struck me was the section where you see, in the actual gameplay, a starfighter taking off from the surface of (I think) Coruscant and entering a low down Space Battle. Why did that not occur to us before?

As (one of) the resident Mass Effect fanboy, I take exception to that!

Naw, just kidding. I don't really care.

Alone in The Dark could have been incredible. I bought it the day it came out and was so unimaginably disappointed. So many good ideas. (sigh)

Yeah, haven't seen the trailer, but wasn't Battlefront III cancelled though?
I guess. That would explain why the trailer looked leaked. Still, it looked awesome, too bad if it was canceled.

Assassin's Creed.
The setup for every assassination was awesome, but EVERY, SINGLE ONE just ended up being "stab, fight hordes of guards, run away, hide, rinse and repeat".
No stealth in any way which made me a bit disappointed...
This. Once I got in position for a story assassination and chucked about 5 knives at the target (1 is enough to kill most people) and he didn't die because you have to be next to them when you kill them for their last speech! Then the guards came and killed me.

I'm going to throw a curve ball here, Dino Crisis 3.

1 and 2 were brilliant, in fact I still play 2, then 3 happened, it went the way of Jason and thought a upgrade in space was cool, it wasn't. Given the story so far, a third could have been awesome especially with PS2 and X-box graphics (compared to PSX). Buuuuuuuuut no.

That's all for now it's late, well it's 6am, but I've been up since 4pm.

No it was moved over to the team that made renagade sqaudron which i think is for the best, renagade sqaudron i consider to be star wars battlefront 3 already, swicth weapons and class and such, they can only make the game better, and i can hardly wait
Do you mean Rogue Squadron?

Halo 3, I mean look at the damn adverts http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rridXskgWg for the thing, made it look like it was going to be an epic war where you struggled to beat the Covenant, instead it was just a series of small skirmishes in linear areas.

Just Cause, it had lots of great things it just didn't really do it for me.
Just Cause 2 is on the way. Hopefully it will be the game the first should have been.

That's odd. I thought that was for the at-the-time unnamed (now known as Halo: Reach) Halo project.

Having played Overlord II these days... I must say that the game feels a bit too small. The world is fine, but there isn't exactly a lot to do. Very few side quests exist and that's saddening.
The length is also a bit too short , if you ask me(though I can't really explain why).Compared to the first one it's far less epic. The first one had you journeying from place to place in your quest to anihilate heroes.
Here you're supposed to destroy the Empire and expand your own influence, however it doesn't really feel like your influence is spread at all. You just capture 2 cities and destroy a few magical sanctuaries. All fine, but I don't see that going to affect the entire planet.

I do admit , even with all these flaws, I still enjoyed it and I still am.
