Well, ignoring the bugs that are likely a result of some evil Australian scientist's plans to breed an army, I wouldn't go because the censorship of games is nuckin' futs over there.

That's the reason I wouldn't want to live there, no reason I wouldn't want to visit. I'd just have to hope I didn't come off as a dumb tourist.

That's not an Australian thing, everyone hates dumb tourists, and I would feel rude if I ended up being one.

The deadly octopus and jellyfish would do it for me. I have family that live down there though and he was telling me about the massive spiders and the crazy ants.

Reasons not to go: Takes three days to get there. It cost's three grand to get there. Literally every animal in the country can kill you just by looking at you. Massive hole in the ozone layer means my fragile English skin would be fucked. Its full of bloody Austalians.

Lets see, the three most common reasons seem to be:

1. Long ass flight.

2. Big ass bugs.

3. Stupid ass video game laws and release dates.

All of these things apply to me, but I've got one more: I live in Florida. The weather is fairly similar, and the beaches are just as nice.

I don't need to travel 24 hours in an expensive plane to somewhere that's effectively the same as where I live, except with bugs that could chew my arm off.

Fuck that.

I was going to say the bugs, then I remembered the plane rides. No waaaay could I stay on a plane for that long, my legs would turn blue and fall off.

But yes, the bugs. Oh fuck, I'd be having panic attacks here there and everywhere. I wouln't be able to sleep at night out of fear.
Apart from that, yeah it looks like a nice place. I have a friend there, I put her up for a month when she stayed over here, sure she could do the same.

Obviously you have to be tough to live here, as everyone else seems to be soft and comes up with weak excuses. Sure Canberra is not very well liked, but it's usually the younger crowd who have nothing to complain about so they complain about Canberra, but don't actually do anything about it (ie. move out)

I lived in Australia for four months and survived.
I really miss the amazing public transportation :(

The only reason I wouldn't move there again is the weird way internet is distributed. Living there put me into a strange internet rationing mentality.

Spiders; backwards attitudes (from politicians) towards games, the internet, and porn; getting charged ridiculous prices for things.

Hateful **** bag family members.

How cunty is that you ask? Not telling my father his mother, my grandmother, had died.

Nothing fire won't fix but frankly it seems like a waste of a plane ticket.

Yup my only reason for not visiting Australia at all is also the spiders.

Australia is pretty hit and miss. Expensive games, but they are not nearly as censored as some people think. Sure, we missed some, but its not terrible (Mortal Kombat did not have a heap going for it aside from nostalgia). But other things, such as phones as mentioned above which are crazy cheap (45 bucks for unlimited national calls. WIN) And bugs are not that plentiful until you go to the country areas and even then not that common. Plus we are about as chilled out about stuff as Canada, so that's pretty sweet. And we have a big drinking culture :p

I'm not saying Australia is expensive,
But on a related note, it is. I suppose it's relative and depends on where you're coming from, but compared to home here in Canada... Yeah, rather expensive.

And on topic, simply a matter of expenses, maybe when I have a source of income again rather than ever dwindling savings.

It takes forever to get there (20-34 hours with layovers), and their women are ranked internationally among the least interested in sex.

Reasons to go include: giant bugs, grilled bananas, funny accents, and the Mana Bar.

I just came back from Australia (Sydney mainly) and yeah, it's bloody expensive. AND THEY DON'T EVEN DO PINTS! WHAT DEVILRY IS THIS!
