I want the Triforce trio to come back intact, im sure Link will come back. But I also hope Zelda gets to stick around as well as Ganondorf (with improvements)I had actually hoped that during Brawl he was going to be a sword/dark magic hybrid fighter

I wonder If Travis is a Viable candidate. Since the time Suda51 stated he wanted him on a smash game, he's gone multiplatform. His game isn't very family friendly for a smash roster to begin with either.

The real question is what kind of crossover characters will have in this new Smash Bros?
I bet at least ONE Capcom character inside the roster!
I still remember the time that it was planned to be Megaman in the previews game.
Or it was just a rumor?

Dat awkward moment when the character of Capcom for the crossover, is Poison

Put in a gen 5 pokemon, Like Haxorus and i will be all over this.

The only thing i care about is which Pokemon will be in it xD
No, Haxorus would be good as a pokeball but as a playable monster I think we all know there can only be Conkelldurr.

Just imagine the possibilities!!

Or maybe Scrafty or something.
Samurott/Dewott maybe, them blades would awesome to use!

Darmanitan would also be awesome, it having the highest physical attack of all the fire types, but tbh i will happy with whatever pokemon they use!

I'd like Luigi, Ike & Fox to all remain (since its usually those three I play as) but have a feeling Ike could go =(

As for new characters... I'm actually not sure who to hope for. I'd like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro to be there but I doubt it would happen. Probably a Gen V pokemon will be thrown in there - I would hope for Darmanitan 8)

EDIT: Also, decent online play that actually works. That would really make it awesome!

Geno or Mallow from Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars- maybe Square is holding them tightly or something, but I will probably buy this game new day 1 if those characters are in it. Geno already has his following, but lets show some love to Mallow. :)

And for the love of all that is good in the world, make the smash balls less common! I shouldn't see more smash balls than bob ombs, as a rare item the specials are cool, but as common as they are, showing up dozens of times per fight, they become incredibly obnoxious.

Honestly all I really care about is that they do not use Link's design from Skyward Sword as his primary costume. I really hope they do not.

Oh, and put Roy back into the game!

Darmanitan is amazing. I used one. It's safe to say that if Darmanitan hits, Darmanitan tends to win...

Bit tough to think of fantastic gen 5 okemon for it, maybe we'll see a few gen 6, or pokemon trainer with the gen 6 starters or something!

Add Travis Touchdown (A rising star to many video game fans) and Raichu (they had Pichu who sucked and Pikachu obviously, so why not their bad-ass evolution?) into the game and all will be perfect!

I do hope the online part is fixed, I might play it with some friends here on the Escapist if the online isn't complete arse.
The MiiVerse is great from what I've used, I can't say much because my internet is being very tempermental and they're working on the lines, but I'll get back to you on it, I'm working on review/overview of the system I'll be sure to let you know how the online multiplayer is but I've heard little about it.

Kinda expecting it to be laggy because my wifi is shitty. I got no friends on it yet anyway :3 lol

If they change Link's look,it will probably be based on the Zelda Wii U title, unless they reveal Smash first,or they could just not show him in the trailer

And since they are cooperating with Namco,i would like to see someone from the Tales Series,i don't know, like Kratos Aurion or something

Or Castlevania characters that have appeared on nintendo consoles,Like Shanoa,or Soma who would probably play similarly to Kirby

I also hope Ike isn't removed,i like playing as him

I quite like Skyward Sword link, mostly because I like Skyward Sword a lot and the art style is a nice compromise. I prefer my Zelda to be bright and colourful, not entirely sure why.

I also prefered the controls for skyward sword to those of twilight princess because they were more satisfying to use than the TP waggle.

I want TOON LINK BACK THOUGH! D:

And Toon Zelda/Tetra would be awesome.

oh boy. the "hype the hype" strategy of nintendo is apparently already working. Oh well..

OT: I think they'll keep the roster smaller or the same size as in brawl. This ain't no friggin mugen game. This means we'll see some clones disappear and probably some other characters as well like ROB since he was only sorta relevant for the subspace emissary, then lucas (see ya the next time I replay Mother 3), one of the furry entourage around Fox, Toon Link (despite the Windwaker HD release), Lucario (probably replaced by the poster boy of Gen VI who inevitably is going to star in one of the upcoming pokemon movies) and depending on how cooperative Sega and Konami are Sonic and Snake.

For some dumb reason Marth continues to be the face of Fire Emblem (ugh...), so I guess we'll lose Ike as well.

This means we'll have about 3-6 spots for new characters. Since Namco is on board on this one, there is only one character that has to be in there from their franchises: Klonoa who way cooler than any what's-his-face from tekken anyway.

Other than him, I'm hesitant to do any speculation on characters since I'll probably be wrong anyways but there are some characters I'd like to exclude from speculation from the get go:

Megaman: Seriously, what's the blue bomber going to add to SSB since gameplay-wise he's like the unholy bastard offspring of Samus and Kirby.

Shadow the Hedgehog (or any of the other massive amount of annoying woodland creatures from the sonic universe): No... just no.

Bayonetta: Okay, to be honest, I'd love to see her in there but somehow I can't really picture her in any family-friendly game without toning down her overly-sexualized character and frankly, who'd want that?

Gameplay-wise I hope they'll give the stages more character than in Brawl. I'm one of the few who loved the platforming levels in melee (pokefloats is still my fav stage) and I'd love to see more of them who provide and challenge while being forced to leap through the air like a silly goose. Also, the single player campaign should feel less fanfictiony this time around. :/

Oh yeah, and don't screw up the connectivity between the 3DS and the Wii U.

They won't be increasing the roster size much, however they will be adding new characters.

It's pretty much confirmed that one or two Namco characters will be added. This might mean some Ni No Kuni, Tekken, Soul Calibur or Dark Souls characters. (I'm not too worried to be honest, they got Solid Snake to work).

They'll be removing a couple of characters too I assume, as they did with Melee > Brawl. I'm going to predict that Ike or Marth will be replaced with Chrom from Awakening. Falco or Wolf will be removed, Sonic and Snake might disappear considering they're not Nintendo characters. Toon Link might go seeming as he's not had a game since Spirit Tracks. ROB looked like a one time thing, Lucas might also disappear (not Nes because he's been in the game since Smash Bros 1). Lucario might also be removed to make way for one of the newer Pokemon, similar to how Mewtwo was removed.
Actually, Solid Snake's Creator loves the Super Smash Bros. Series. He originally wanted Snake in Melee, but it was too late to add him, and that's why he's in Brawl. I don't know much about Sonic (He was only brought in because of Fan Votes), but Solid Snake is pretty much guaranteed to stay in Super Smash Bros. Especially since he wasn't added into Playstation Battle All-Stars.

If the controls work fine, cross platform gaming. I would love to leave my house and while I have a dead hour at college boot and still play my friends with my 3DS version in the same conditions they are playing, and with my "character".

Random customization. Customization of "random" events, such as Smash Ball appearances, trip mechanics, etc, for different playstyles with different people.

A fuck ton of challenges.

More stages.

More character. Travis would be great, because even if ti is an M rated game, it is very cartoony.

Arcade an Story modes.

Chat with the integrated microphones, as i love trash talking in fighting games but I don't want to buy a peripheral.

A robust on-line but with local multiplayer still being the focus. There is nothing like a SSB party.

And something wild, stages divided into islands for on-line "multiplayer". What I mean? different stages interconnected so that huge battles of more than 4 players can be done.

I heard rumors Krystal from Star Fox and Ridley from Metroid were likely to be in on the new roster. Wolf was actually a fan-choice last time to enter the roster, so he may stay, leading to possibly 4 Star Fox characters, which I'd love. Ridley would give some interesting dynamics, a heavier version of Pit. As for who these two might replace, I'm not sure. I'd guess Wolf and ROB.

I don't know about you, but I think I see a pattern with who can get cut.
Nobody from Smash64 can ever be cut.
Clones can be cut, unless they're from Smash64.
In terms of Fire Emblem protagonists you get Marth (First Fire Emblem protagonist) and whoever the latest Fire Emblem protagonist is when the Smash game comes out. (So it will be the dude from Awakening)

They had Toon Link in Brawl so I don't see why they can't have Yarn characters in this one. It's its own little series of games now :D

Isn't the popular rumor that Namco/Bandai is developing the latest Smash Bros games? If not the Wii U one than the 3DS one (which is apparently also being developed right now). Anyway, when it comes to characters I'd assume Pac-Man and maybe a Ghost would make it into the roaster. I'd also love to see Simon Belmont make it in but no idea if that would work. Playing as Bayonetta would be cool and I'd love to see more Sonic characters like Knuckles, Eggman and, Metal Sonic. As for Pokemon I'd like to have each region's trainer be a separate character but admittedly, I don't know how that would work without them feeling like palette swaps.

The big new thing I'd want to see in the next Smash-Bros though would be classic or, Bit-Mode, which would use the original character sprites, original levels/locations, etc. It would be a challenge for top-down games like Pokemon, Zelda and, Mother but it would be manageable by using battle scenes from those three games. Nintendo paid to develop most of its consoles and games by the nostalgia dollar after all: might as well give us what we want. A part of me also wants to see mini-games and, what-if sections; the What-Ifs would be challenge maps wherein you play classic levels with characters from other games (ie: Pikachu in Super Mario Bros 1-1 operating under Super Mario Bros rules so, no powers and no touching enemies other than jumping on them)

I never did play through Brawl but I loved the story mode (as much as I could without actually playing it), so if that would make a return, it'd be great.

As for new people, they'll most likely be throwing out Lucario like they did with Mewtwo in favour of a new mysterious-looking, bipedal Pokemon (I'm guessing Zoroark because I imagine a lot could be done with his ability).
