...And broke $100,000 in under 4 hours.
A remarkable effort; I didn't know it was quite that well known.
Did anyone here pre-order?

EDIT: I wake up and...wow. It has nearly hit a quarter-million in support, between 9700 backers.
EDIT2: New goal posted at $500,000: Novakid race.

POST-MORTEM COMMENTARY

See, this is why I don't bother starting topics here and just stick to commenting.

It's always disheartening when dead-horse topics about Dark Souls elitists, Mass Effect 3 or whatever trolling Anita Sarkeeian is (or isn't) doing lately, get dredged up to be worked over and over while actual development goes largely ignored (unless it's a forum favorite like Bethesda or Valve, but I'm not even going to go into that).

Or someone starting a topic with an intensely stupid, provocative statement that leads to everyone dogpiling them, with the topic exploding in popularity.

I guess the moral of the story is that the Internet Hate Machine never sleeps, controversy sells, and if you have something nice to report it's best to just keep it to your fucking self.

This comes off as whining, and I admit that it is, but you know what: that fits.
Because we don't often discuss games in the "Game Discussion" forum so much as we whine, complain and henpeck about games.

Well it is practically a Terraria sequel and that is very well known, for some good and some bad parts.
While Starbound is looking very fine at the moment I don't order anything until I know what the full thing is like, especially since they claim how much bigger the scope of this will be yet we only have snippets of mechanics sofar.

I don't know why it surprised me, considering how crazy hyped people are for this.
I'm sure it's nowhere near done climbing yet.

Got my $75 pre-order.

I've been thinking about pre-ordering this, as I really liked Terraria, and this is looking to be so much better.

I wanna see if it would be possible to hollow out an entire planet in the game, and turn it into a giant space-station.

It's good that its doing well and I will be picking it up at some point. However I won't be pre-ordering just yet. Having only seen some basic tech demos I would like to see more of the actual gameplay before I put any money down.

I'll keep my eye on this one.

I have over 150 hours on terraria which was well worth what I paid for it.

Yeah, for all the shit people slung at Redigit for killing development for a solid year (he's back at it again, last I heard), I cannot say I didn't enjoy Terraria.

Steam has my game clocked in at 651 hours.
