Seeing as how the 3DS is taking the world by storm theres 1 question i wanted to ask. Apart from 3d and the little joystick what exactly does the 3DS offer thats different to the regular DS?

Better Wifi. Apart from anything else, it finally supports WPA and WEP. So it supports routers made this decade!

What do you mean by "regular DS"? Phat/Lite or DSi?

As for WiFi, all support WEP.
But, only the DSi and 3DS have WPA, but that's only for their web browser and app store, since no DS games (save maybe for Black/White) have WPA encryption compatibility built into them.

As I just mentioned, DSi and 3DS have web browsers and 'app' stores.
Well, I should say the DSi does have both, and they were available day one on its release.
The 3DS, on the other hand, needs a system update to get those up and running, which hasn't been released yet.

And, cameras.
Phat/Lite have none. DSi has front and rear facing 2D camers. 3DS has a 3D camera and a 2d rear facing camera.

Better hardware - but still not good enough to do anything else but port games from the 5th generation consoles.

3D functionality - So if you thought two screens and 'touch' function were gimmicky, boy, are you in for a surprise!

A little joystick - Because we already stole the PSP's GO!Cam concept for our DSi, so we thought "hey, why not go all the way and copy/paste that as well?"

I personally think the most impressive thing is the AR aspect of it. Seriously, that little question mark AR block is cooler than any launch title. I'm in love with my 3DS, personally.

Don't see the point in owning one until some decent games come out for it.
And I don't just meet the N64 ports they're doing, I mean serious new IPs that don't try and sell themselves based on how cool the new 3D looks.

So probably sometime next year.

Much better graphics I believe. It's essentially what the Gamecube was to the N64, although I foresee a better future for the 3ds than that.

Mostly just more power. It has some other really cool features that will hopefully be used in awesome ways, as the DS was, but the main thing I think is that the graphics and processing power are way way better than those of the DS. We'll see if things like the camera are used well in the future.
