Anything that has a symbol in it can be replaced with any word. So that word with pi in it? Just write Lololol instead of it.

Oh lol. I was going to reply that I've gotten captcha's that seem to think I'm using a Russian keyboard or something, and guess what? I got 3 captcha's in a row containing characters I can't type out. I just kept refreshing to see how many I'd get before I found a normal one. ^^

Tell me about it...One time, the captcha tried to make me type ten to the negative thirty-third power in exponential form. How do I even DO that?

I know. The stupid captcha thing is fucking broken, but the Escapist won't get rid of it. And we all know why it's really there don't we. It's not to cut down on SPAM, it's to entice people to join the Publisher's Club.

I've said it before Escapist, You're not going attract more paying members by making the experience of non-paying members worse. You're just going to drive people away from your site.
Speaking for myself, every time I that fucking thing comes up I wonder to myself why the hell I keep coming back to this site. Same thing every time you shove that stupid Publisher's Club ad down my throat after every video, you're not selling me on the Publisher's Club, you're driving me away from this site.

I had a bunch of chinese signs once. It's no big deal, just press the 'new captcha' button.

I found an article a while back that said that Captcha are actually using YOU as free labour. Only one of the words is actually a test word. The other is Captcha getting you to translate it for you. If a word has a character that can't be typed on a standard keyboard, or has a number or punctuation, or is in a different font than the usual one, it's the fake one.

The article I found was created by a group of people who were getting their own back by replacing the fake word with a swear.

I decided to take a politer approach. Ever since I found it out, I tend to replace it with "hippopotomus", just to REALLY screw with their heads!

I'm REALLY going to hate it when my Premium Membership runs out and I've forced to fill these things out.

I believe this says it all.

Let's see, that expression looks something like...

h_1scl_1 + h_2_scl_2 + h_3_scl_3 + ... + h_m_scl_m...

Honestly though, the pie key IS my favorite key on the keyboard. Being able to generate Pie whenever I need some, CTRL + Pie gives apple Pie, and shift + pie gives cherry pie. If you are daring, then CTRL + SHIFT + PIE gives Rubarb, but Rubarb is a controversial type of pie.

[HEADING=1]YOU DON'T HAVE TO TYPE OUT BOTH WORD[/HEADING]

All you would have to type for that is "orrnter", and completely ignore the other word, and it would accept that. There's only ever one real test word in recaptcha, and its always the same font and style.

Words that are different fonts, involve crazy symbols or are properly spelled are good signs it is the word you don't need to type. By now I can tell which is which automatically.

Sorry, but I'm getting sick of Capatcha complaining threads. I think The escapist has explained why they use them and what they do. It's to ease the workload on the moderators.
