Usually in how some people like to try to do just that to distract from, if not outright in defense of, the elephant in the room.

Also the who deal with it being meaningless to any point made, attacking the messenger, and derails topics into personality clashes and moralizing about who is allowed to cast the first stone.

So by and by, often a lot. There is often a lot wrong with it. Especially when that is all that is commented on.

Edit: decided to do this as an edit since it's not anything huge enough for a new (double) post. According to Marzgirl, CA site accounts have been disabled. [https://twitter.com/MarzGurl/status/985594805244772352] This means that the comments section under videos embedded on the site and other posts are disabled. Apparently if you were still logged in when they were switched off you can still comment, but if you log out or weren't logged in you can't get in. Oh, and they've shut down their online store as well.

They messed up big time on the second non-apology, and are now on lock down while the what, five remaining members try to figure out how to defuse this without everyone losing everything. Which the only way they could manage that would be a willing sacrifice from Mike Michaud. Though that'd only stop the worse of it and get them some kind of platform to stand on. Malcolm and Tamara's posts only lost them the good will they'd have needed to be seen as calmer heads, even if it was at the behest of Mike they participated. Honestly, this is pretty awful. Maybe ending everything. Personally MikeJ and Erod's videos did it for me. Both of them say the same thing, they they hadn't made any money off this in years, no one told them anything, and they lost money on the events.

If they still wanted to work together, honestly they have the perfect chance to gain publicity right now if they struck hot, and had Linkara post he'd work with the others to form a new group outside CA with the original staff. Though it could still bust if mismanaged...

He also says he's been in contact with Brad, who is apparently adamant about not turning his back on his friends, so it looks like he's staying. I find that...a little disappointing, really. I'm not sure Channel Awesome is going to recover from this and I'm not sure the damage to his brand is worth that level of loyalty, particularly in the light of the JewWario revelations.

I think you are looking at this the wrong way. I like the cinema snob as well, even so much as to pay to watch "Jesus Bro" (which I highly recommend). In fact, I have enough respect for him to not demand he have an opinion just because some people online have found their own personal gamergate.

I admire his balls to just say 'fuck this, I'm done!' and leave, but also it feels like tucking tail and running instead of telling Mike whats-his-face to fuck off, buy him out of the IP, and re-establish the CA with new codes of conduct, and contracts made to help and favor their creators.

Oh, if true I think that's a smart move. Not sure if I'd contribute to the inevitable kickstarter, but I'd certainly think about it if they were planning on the revised code of conducts and all.

There's so many more ways to treat an asshole like an asshole than being an asshole yourself. Just because you think they're spouting shit doesn't mean you spouting shit back means you're in the right or the more morally justified. It just means you're both covered in shit, only one of you is fine being covered in shit, and it's not the guy with your nameplate.
