Hello escapist people. I was just wondering something for people who are indeed following the 4chan/tumblr war..

As someone who once frequenced 4chan and now I am a daily/hourly tumblr user, does anyone else think that 4chan is going too far? A few things i've seen 4chan do in this...'war';

-Switch links who for helpful sites for people suffering with depression, anxiety, ect with horror images
-changing picture links for grotesque images
-stealing tumblr accounts
-attacking tags with abscene images,ect.

I think the worst thing here is that 4chan has been replacing sites that help people with mental issues with fucking terrible posts that could possibly make these people worse, ect. I always thought 4chan was just a little funny site to go when nothing else excites me on the internet, but personally I think they are taking things way too far here.

Anyone else?

Have they changed the actual content of web sites, or just created false links in some tumblr threads? Because those are two very, very different things.

From what I can tell, False threads. Normally, I would have no problem with that, but these threads are like suicide prevention threads, help for people trying to quit self harming, ect. These are threads that help people.

I'm relatively sure it was /b/tards and /pol/acks, so... what did you expect? Considering how genocidal SJWs are towards anything white and with Y chromosome, it's like fighting fire with fire - and those two have enough fire for everyone.

Well, this, for starters.

Since when did 4chan not take things too far? That's all their humour is based on. I don't know why you're so shocked now.

Probably yeah. That's what 4chan does, I'm not entirely sure what caused this "war" or why Tumblr decided to participate because... well they're sensitive. And this is 4chan. It was never going to end well for them in virtually any plausible situation.

Hah. Nope. The whole thing is a huge joke. A play fight. Incredibly staged. Or like Jim Trailerpark said, a cripple fight no one cares about.

Besides, I think the two sites make a good couple.

Wait a minute, you're saying 4chan did exactly what should have been expected of it given its own history?

Honestly though, the most surprising thing about the war was that it took this long to happen.

This is a 'war'?

In any case, just spamming people with the sole reason of trying to make them uncomfortable is being a jerk in my book and so 'going too far'.
The most hilarious thing about this was 4chan spamming the Hannibal tag with gore, though.

I hear their next plan of attack is spamming cat tag with pictures of just adult cats and not kittens.

"Too far" isn't in Anonymous' vocabulary.

I'm also inclined to think that Tumblr brought it on itself by initiating it.

But, as a poster above succinctly put it: cripple fight.

It's just one big game. I'd call it and all participants pathetic, but I doubt anyone honestly cares one shit about their adopted identities when it comes down to it. It's all pretend, a play fight between people who assume roles and do some lovely internet fighting. The only thing at the bottom of this is the wish to have some fun.

It might very well go far, but all pretend fights can lead to that. I doubt the damage is either permanent or very significant.

4chan @#!*% hates Tumblr, even more than Reddit. I'm surprised they haven't taken it further.

If anyone is actually taking this seriously, just stop. No. Go outside. Go to the park, go pet a puppy, go for a walk, buy some ice cream, literally anything else.

Also, as a /trv/ller, it's not 4chan vs Tumblr. It's /b/ vs SJW on Tumblr

I think I'll just continue not to care - seems 'bout the best thing to do with regards to both sites! XD

It seems to me, and forgive me if I am imbuing this with more dramatic grandeur than it deserves, that 4Chan and Tumblr were always destined to fight each other.

Tumblr is a site concerned about social justice issues, and places trigger warnings on potentially upsetting posts; they're somewhat infamous for seeing almost everything as a slight against some minority or other.

4Chan is a seething hive of disgusting porn and offensive jokes, and they'll target just about anything for trolling, provided it is a good source of lulz.

One site cares too much about everything, the other gives no shits about anything. They make for perfect opponents.

Of course they've gone too far. War and death are always too extreme for merely opposing ideals.

Oh wait, no one's been hurt and each side is just mind-fucking each other? This just in: Girl's sleepover pillow fight went too far! A pillow was torn open! Damages estimated in the tens of dollars.

Oh man, 4chan making fun of people killing themselves and ACTUALLY trying to get people to kill themselves?

This has never been news, this has been going on for years, have you visited 4chan a lot? You would know that there really isn't such a thing as "too far".

I don't have any proof but I'm pretty sure some people have A Hero themselves because of 4chan.

I don't really see it as a war either, it's a long raid, and not even a very good one. People on Tumblr are making it worse for themselves by overreacting to it, the best thing to would be to ignore it, but it is pretty hilarious.
