So we had the Kahjiit, how about some Skyrim stealth mage representation?

On the back of the "am I the only one playing as a Kahjiit?" thread I'll throw out the question about who is playing a slightly off-centre build.

I've been playing for about 10 levels so far and love the way that you can really go the way you want, so in that vein I've created a bad ass female Dark Elf mage who specialises in destruction magic but also stealth archery.

There is *nothing* like taking out a ton of guys silently with a bow then ripping out the fire hands if you get seen.

"You were expecting a blade user?! Ha! Burrrrrrrrn!"

Represent, Dark Elf archery mages!

(We also have room for other builds - tell me about them).

I'm sorry, I can't hear you over my two giant frost atronachs that don't have a time limit.

Anyway, I've gone full out mage, but I'm nearing the point where all the perks I want have been gotten, so after I get enchanting to max, I think I'll start getting stealth up so I can be a sneaky mage.
I actually did it in Oblivion, always used invisibility while use a dagger.

So no other stealth archery mages? Surely not!

I am still finding it amusing that I can shoot a guy with an arrow and kill him, and his buddy will freak out for a second, then decide "huh, I was sure I heard something...." and then relax.

Yeah, you heard your buddy, standing right next to you, die to an arrow in the head!

I was planning to make a Stealth/mage Argonian, but stealth is just so damn effective I have no need for magic any more.

I'm pretty much everything. I need to be good with weapons in case enemies close in on me. I have to be good with bows/magic for enemies at range/dragons. I have to be good with heavy armor since my character has the resistance of paper. I have to be good with alchemy to make healing potions to heal my weak ass(since constantly buying them is expensive as balls). I need to be good at healing in case I run out of potions. I need to be good at smithing to make my armor not such. I need to be good at sneaking so I can take out enemies quickly. I need to be good at speech-craft so I can talk my way out of problems instead of fight.

So yeah, that's my character. A combination of everything out of necessity.

Is his first name Jack?

Middle names "of" and "all"?

Same here. Nothing more satisfying than taking bandits down one arrow from the shadows at at time, and then I actually feel pity for the survivors when they finally (if ever) find me, because then it's BBQ-PARTY-EXTRAVAGANZA-OF-PAIN-TIME! Flame runes (set between us before I even start stealth killing), flames, summoning flame atrinochs, etc. Once someone sees me, they REALLY see me. From miles away. Possibly from space.

I have a Kahjitt, but so far he's only level 3, I switched to a Nord because for the first run it looked wierd to me for a Kahjitt to wear the Iron helmet and hide armor.

Really in the end was a dumb thing to do, because I've ended up becoming a stealthy mage who is adept in Conjeration and Destruction, along with being able to use a one handed weapon with pretty good skill and also archery. That is exactly what I meant for my Kahjitt to become, the Nord was meant to be a boss warrior, but I sort of fell into magic.

I'm in your boat OP except I'm a Breton. I find the magic resistance makes them far superior.

I made a female Dark Elf stealth assassin with a knack for Alchemy. Does that count? I mostly attack from ridiculously far away with the bow, but when I feel like being a dick, I deal some kick ass x15 damage with a dagger (mostly for fun and my Dark Brotherhood quests). Then I brew some potions. Whoo, potions! Note - I'm kind of unimpressed with the poisons so far.
