So what kind of Multiplayer game is Fallout 76?

Since the revelation that this game is revealed to be Online Multiplayer, people were immidietly turned off from it.

But what kind of Multiplayer game is this because so far the impression I am getting is that its pretty much an MMORPG?

Unless its a battle royale or something?

bascially just an mmorpg but with small sever sizes, 20 or 30 people each i think

If it's really that small of a player count and the map is really as big as there suggesting it is, it seems like you'll spend almost all your time alone unless you coordinate with someone ahead of time. So I guess it's more co-op than anything.

Except without any NPC around...

A boring doomed to fail one? I mean does anyone really think Fallout 76 will be the next great thing? That's the problem with trend following in multi-year game development - by the time you're ready to publish, you're blasae. There are battle royale games being greenlit right now that won't be released until 2020, at which point the Twitch will be all over something new.

It's easy to be reductive, negative, and cavalier about what 76 could be it seems.

I for one am expecting some phenomenal things from it. It's Bethesda's first multiplayer foray with their fallout franchise. I'm sure they're doing everything they can to make the experience as fun as they can for fans of fallout 4 while adding their own twist to the multiplayer formula. Everything I've seen in that fallout 76 documentary suggests that this will be anything but your typical survival battle royal fare. The movement and shooting seems to be a little tighter than vanilla fallout 4 as well (almost as if they implemented f4's awesome weight, movement, and bullet drop mod).

I'm really looking forward to it.
