So what will gaming be like in 20 years ?

So basic question , what do you think the futur of gaming will be like? If you compare to 20 years ago ( early 1990s), and today gaming has evolved alot and very quickly i might add. Many ,if not all ,of us have seen the evolution of video games as a medium , so i won't make a wall of text comparing games for the past and games of the present. But what do you think it will be like in the next two decades? Have we reached the summit , and gaming shall remain the same? Will we have Virtual Reality ( virtual boy doesn'T count that was shit ) ? Will gaming be outlawed and all video games confiscated and burned ( hey it could happen lol , books have been burned in the past )?. Will we still used controllers ( or keybords and mice ) . Will everything be montion controlled and voice activated ? What do you think video games will be like in 2031 ?

Mind blowing. I doubt virtual reality will catch on though, I think i'll place bets. It just seems an extremely impractical thing to have.

But I think the gaming industry has many controversial years ahead of it, I think there will be a market crash, maybe two. And for the love of god, I hope motion control doesn't take over.

I dont think they will still have video games, at least not as we know them. That or since consoles and PC's will be obsolete, all you will have are bad Iphone games.
I dont think there is a very bright future for gaming.

No no, they replaced the knives with penis models. Since it'll be the only game released, they will try to fit in as many genres as they can. Porn, dating sim, RPG, JRPG, Horror, Puzzle, etc

i missed the play station2 largely but everytime i read through that back catalog wow. so many games so many genres so many experiments its almost like things devolved. I want the future to be that, no monopolising franchises and somuch freedom of choice. And ideally devs thinking more about wether photo realism is nescessary rather than mandatory.

More or less the exact same as it is now, but with better graphics and some random new peripheral that is sort-of gimmicky. I doubt we are going to see "virtual reality" or anything... just nothing but photo-realistic graphics and such. But who knows? There might be some brilliant game that comes out which totally revolutionizes the way we play games.
