I'm an ex-wow player, been off since a little after BC was released (none us appreciated our hard won epic and legendary gear being made redundant by greens), but some friends and workmates are thinking about getting back in to it to complement our after-work drinks on friday nights. I'm a little wary (and I prefer WAR for my occasional mmo fix), but I don't want to stop hanging out, or sit around watching them play, so I thought I'd ask some of the escapists for their thoughts on what the game is like, now the 2nd expansion has been up and running for a few weeks.

There's no way it's the best game of 2008, but it's certainly an improvement on WoW. But then, WoW is WoW. If you like WoW, you'll like the expansion. If you don't, chances are the expansion won't change that fact. The game's been made much easier and the classes, at least in terms of health and mana are probably more defined now (in that a Warrior has 25k HP whereas a Mage probably has around 15k). Death Knights are button-mash kings. Warlocks are squishy again. Rogues are squishy again. Druids are still way too good at everything.

Well if you don't think it will be then fine, but 11 million players + a perfect history of games that all had numerous players and in depth story telling, control ,and game play will defiantly makes Blizzard the best video game company evar imo.
*sigh*
It's a drop in the bucket.
Maple Story has 50 million users.
Lineage II has 14 million users (closing in on 15).
As for a perfect history of games, I'm not even sure what that means.
