My question is , how do astrologists explain people who totally go against their sign? It has to happen all the time, because astrology is so vague, what if someone is supposed to be "shy" according to their sign, yet is the most outgoing person ever? That always annoyed me.

The thing with Star Signs is that most of their predictions are either;
1. Vague enough that they apply to anyone in the right circumstances.
2. Contain a double meaning so that different people can read different things into the statement, often completely opposite to each other.
3. Play off perceptions and confirmation bias as opposed to any actual facts.

Load of bollocks all round, but hey, whatever gets some people through the day.

Seriously though, I'll read the horoscope if it's put in front of me but I won't go out of my way; I treat it like a fortune cookie or the inside of a Jones Soda cap, it's nice to read but don't bet on the races over it.

My sign is a giant red STOP sign with a NO UTURN sign beneath it. Oh... you meant astrological? Cancer. And funny enough, the general personality traits fit. I'm not one to put much into those things, horoscopes are generally inaccurate as hell but the overall traits of Cancer more or less fit me to a "T" right down to the other signs I'm most/least compatible with.
There's something to it I guess. Weird.

Well I'm one of those rare Libras who happens to have Sapphire as their births stone. Libra fits me pretty well... For Chinese Zodiac I'm a Tiger, which a lot of people say fits me too, especially because Tiger signs are supposed to be quite stubborn and assertive when they chose to be. Both of which seem to fit the walking mess of contradictions that I am as a person.

Despite the traits being more-or-less accurate in my case, I still call bullshit on this entire thing. Because many of these descriptions could be said about literally anyone, and you'd have a 1/12th chance of being right, if not more.

So I'm a Capricorn (or rather Aquarius) for Babylonian Zodiac and Rat for the Chinese Zodiac.

Capricorn is basically a willing workaholic, which is definitely not me, although secondary characteristics of the sign fit well. Aquarius fits a bit more so due to the intelligence and inventive aspect, but has its problems too because I'm also supposed to apparently more gorgeous, friendlier, and rebellious than I actually am.

Rat from the Chinese Zodiac fits really well for me in just about all aspects other than being positive and cheerful. Perhaps I am and am just looking myself as a downer, but those are definitely attributes that I don't think describe me.

Then again I know they're lying and I'll never ever ever leave my house again.

They could be "on the cusp" of two sun signs, or other astrological factors at their time of birth are in play.
