So which games are you exicted for 2017?

For now, only Gravity Rush 2, and that's because it's so close to release.

Games like the new God of War and Spider-Man I'm certainly interested in, but I have to see more of it before it can really get my blood pumping.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is going to be at least a decent wish fullfillment game, like most of Bioware's stuff.

And Zelda: Breath of the Wild I would be slightly excited about if Europe wasn't left hanging concerning the release date. That voice acting better be worth it.

I'm also kinda looking forward to the Crash remaster. It's been forever since I played those games.

Prey is the one im most hype about. it made by those who know how to do immersive sim. looks like closest thing to system shock since 1999.

Torment: Tides of Numenera I suppose. I kickstarted it way back when and my interest in the game has slowly dwindled since. I will play it and I believe I will enjoy it, but if inXile's and Obsidian's latest forays into isometric "old school" RPGs are any indications, I doubt I'll stick with it for long.

Apart from that... Mass Effect: Andromeda, maybe? I don't know.

Oh yeah, I am looking forward to the new Operators and Maps for Rainbow Six: Siege. The first season delivered and Ubisoft seems intent on keeping Siege alive and active.

Breath of the Wild, Final Fantasy XII: Zodiac Age, Mass Effect Andromeda, Yooka Laylee. Maybe Resident Evil 7, but I'm not terribly optimistic there.

Plus whatever other big titles get announced for the Switch.

None yet as I tend not to get that excited about games a long way away (anymore). Suppose the one I am closest to being excited about is Nioh since I loved the demos and the setting.

Lots I am interested in such as Tekken 7, Tales of Beseria (last one I played was Symphonia but for some reason this one intrigues me), For Honour, The Fractured but Whole, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, Gravity Rush 2, Valkyria Azure Revolution and the Stormblood expansion to FFXIV thats off the top of my head anyway.

If they announce a proper Soul Calibur game that will get me excited same if they announce that Dissidia arcade is getting ported to PS4 now. The FFVII remake also has the potential to get me really excited since FFVII is my favourite game of all time but its distance and lack of details makes that hard.

That's about it. God of War lost me at the first trailer, as did Death Stranding. Project Sonic 2017 only has one trailer, but it already looks like it's taking itself far too seriously. Also, if they ditch the gameplay of Lost World for the press X to win "gameplay" of Unleashed, I might just lose my shit. And I can cross Spoders off the list as well, seeing as superhero games don't appear to be my thing.

I haven't been looking for stuff that's not even out yet for a very long time now. I'm only looking back at stuff that's been out long enough to get at least user reviews.
I can wait, while playing something else. All niches are already satisfied, if you don't mind simple gfx.

None that I'm excited for just yet since The Last of Us 2 isn't coming out until 2018 or 2019.

A bunch that I'm interested in though.

- Horizon Zero Damn

It looks pretty, the gameplay looks alright and I like the premise. Problem is that it smells a lot like an Ubisoft-style open world. You have collected 14/150 of the things! We already know it has you reveal terrain by climbing shit. Although you're climbing robo-dinosaurs, so at least that's an improvement over fucking radio towers.

- Mass Effect Andromeda

Still have a soft spot for Bioware and I'm definitely up for another helping of Mass Effect. Like the premise. However I'm concerned that they'll squander the promising scenario by pulling yet another Ancient Evil out of their arses. Also, what I've seen of the combat so far is mixed. It looks pleasingly mobile and not a stick-to-cover plod-a-long, but it also looks a bit like a Borderlands-style healthbar-em-up (hyphens!), which would be fucking terrible. If they regress to that after the beautifully punchy weapons of ME3 then I will be bloody livid.

- Gravity Rush 2

I only ever got to play a bit of the first one, but it rather charmed me despite its shortcomings. I like the idea of a sequel that isn't shackled by a handheld platform.

- Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy

Fucking match made in heaven. Tales from the Borderlands made me grin so much my face hurt. Not even exaggerating. Looking forward to something along those lines.

It's some weird little thing about playing magical soccer with demons to get out of exile or something. Whatever. It's by the people who made Bastion and Transistor and the art style looks as gorgeous as one would expect. That is enough to get my attention.

- Divinity Original Sin 2

Hopefully this time they give us a shared inventory and don't frontload their shitty, pedestrian story.

- Prey for the Gods

It's a Shadow of the Colossus rip off. Which is cool. With "survival and crafting elements". Which is decidedly less cool.

Ace combat 7 is definitely the one I'm stoked about cause there finally going back to PS2 era ace combat. Only thing I could be more excited for would be a remake of 3 electrosphere.

Otherwise P5 should be good, can't believe its been so long since 4, I guess Atlus just hate money. Horizon dawn could be good if its not just a re-skinned far cry primal. Nioh if its something more than dark soul difficulty without anything that made dark soul great. Dawn of war 3 could be awesome if its a mix of 1 and 2, the big army of 1 with some form of persistence between mission like 2 (and then maybe add some 4x element to the mix, but that's just crazy thinking).

Other than some indie games which knows gods when they will be out (I hoping for this year), nothing really. Maybe that Oasis rpg game and Miitopia on the 3DS but I pretty much lost interest in 3ds game, not even Pokemon Moon keep me on it for long (however I been like that since White).

ME:Andromeda's the only game I know is coming out this year which I'm interested in.

I have Witcher 3 with all its add-ons/expansions (I want to go through 2 again before starting 3), and it should be a big year for Elite Dangerous, so I won't be pining over a lack of new games if that turns out to be the case.

I wouldn't say I'm excited about any games, however there are enough games that I'm intrigued by, and I think intrigue is better than excitement because I'm not as worried about review confirmation bias. Anyways I digress, the games I'm intrigued by are:

Resident Evil 7 for no other reason that I know bugger all about what it's supposed to be about other than it's not a rehash of Resident Evil 4.

Beat Cop, a game in vein of Papers, Please where you are given a menial task to do (in this case give out tickets) but also have the opportunity to use your power for good, or for bad.

Riot - Civil Unrest, the artstyle reminds me of Mother Russia Bleeds and I'm curious about if it will be as vicious as that game was, other than that I don't really know what the game will be about other than its suppose to have some strategy elements and you can play as either the police or the rioters

Styx Shards of Darkness, the first Styx game was rough but occasionally brushed up against competence to outright being decent, I'm hoping the sequel will finally get it and make it stay there

Shadow Over Isolation, a Lovecraftian mystery game that touts to offer a unique take on deductive reasoning. Having recently finished Orwell and liked how that game's system for deductive reasoning worked, I'm interested to see where this game goes

Routine, I actually thought this game crossed over into the vaporware category because there had been no updates at all in 2016 until October where they dropped the release date trailer.

Outlast 2, I enjoyed the demo enough and I suspect the game will be priced reasonably for what it provides. I just hope it manages to maintain that sense of terror it creates at the beginning of the game all the way to the end, because with the first game I found being chased by enemies was more adrenaline inducing than terrifying.

That's pretty much it, some of the bigger games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and God of War I may get if for no other reason than to get some fucking use out of my PS4, but I can't really say I'm all that excited for any of the AAA releases this year, unless there's something spectacular lined up at E3
