I own the original Modern Warfare. I do not need to purchase the sequel or the competing franchise which will be exactly the same game but with shinier graphics and a few new toys.

Also, anyone who gets into fanboy bashing of one or the or the other series needs to immerse their head in ice water because THEY ARE THE SAME FUCKING GAME!

I'm not getting either. I'm bored with the whole grey shooting trend. I'm saving my money for games with variety. Games that are fed with rainbow colored crazy awesome like Saints Row 3 or grown in a soil of stealth and water of epic combat, like Batman Arkham City(I haven't got it yet).
I couldn't care less for the colorless unimaginative shooting of CoD or Battlefield that always follow the same trend of regenerating health and shoot guys who are not on your side.
I'd play them if I was round someones house and they owned them but I wouldn't spend money on them.

MW3 is 60 bucks on steam, and from what I understand you don't even get all the game modes. What a fucking rip off.
What..? Who said that?

I won't buy either as I was raised on a different generation of games. Nonmodern warfare is just the same game in a new color. same exact gameplay, a lot of perks return, and the fanboys, my god the fanboys. Kids these days wouldn't know a good game if it came and slapped'em in the face. But it's what makes money, so that's what we'll get. BF3, well BF3 dissapointed me when the Devs said it would be a true PC game and have gone and messed it up with things like origion.

Neither. Couldn't think of anything worse. Get Arkham City, awesome game, and play that until skyrim is out ;)

With all the campers, and the Developers who give exponential advantages to players that play non-stop a.k.a. soon to be subscribers, It is not worth it to play these two titles at all!
I was about to sell back my BF3 Disc the other night, then i remembered it's cheaper to hold on to it over the long term than it is to sell back, then rent/buy used again down the road, if it comes to mind to play it again for some reason.

Maybe it's because i haven't learnt how to find/fly any airplanes/helicoptors yet. No thanks to the crappy single player that won't teach you shit in BF3! The FOG is horrible too. I want to be able to snipe someone in the head across the map, not have to hit them 4 times! How unrealistic is that shit!

Not getting MW3 for many reasons, see above. The past single players are too straight forward and commanding, plus have unlimited foes? WTF? I mean even in WWII, One person doesn't run around killing thousands single handedly.

Skyrim has the most pre-orders for a reason. Everyone likes a slow-paced yet strategic, amazingly Free Open-world to Story-Quest RPG. NPC and Economy Simulations were the biggest upgrade to the RPG Game Genre. It gave the Programs more life to them by adding a bit of purpose to their mundane lives.
Throw in a bit of PVP Arena Style Multiplayer with in Game money gambling, and you have a number one best seller on the list!

My list for this season includes AC: Revelations, Batman Arkham City, Skyrim and Saints Row 3.

As you can see, no room for generic shooter 2011

I've strayed from COD, I never did play the multiplayer that much.

I like the Battlefield series and BC2 is a blast, but there are enough good games out right now that I don't feel like paying the price and dealing with the Origin and browser crap of BF3. Probably when it gets cheaper I'll buy it, especially if they simplify it.

And oh yeah, I got a Skyrim preorder for my birthday so that will keep me very busy until next year sometime.

I'm not. BF3 = Origin and I refuse to get Origin.

I played MW, MW2, and Black Ops...I'm FPSed out for a bit, minus TF2, that never gets old.

Neither of them appeal to me at all.

I've played several CoD games and didn't like them. Found myself so bored during a MW2 match I spent the entire game hunting down 1 screaming muppet and killing him repeatedly .... he was bloody annoying.

Tried the BF3 beta and wasn't impressed. Servers kept going down so gave up on it but it wasn't anything I would have forked out £40 for.

Just waiting on Skyrim now and then ToR and my year will be complete.

I'm not getting either simply due to lack of interest in them. I have enough shooters already, and most of them are far more enjoyable to me than either of these games could hope to accomplish. I've just had my fill of shooters for a long while, so I see no need to add more to my collection when neither of them look all the appealing.

I have a big backlog of games I need to finish anyways, and a few more interesting non-shooter games on the way that I'd much rather play.

I won't buy either for the simple fact that I don't have much money and i'd rather spend it on games that I would actually enjoy for more than an afternoon. Something like Skyrim or Saints Row 3. :3

why am i not getting? their FPS, that's why, 'realistic' one at that, yeah -.- sounds real fun to me ....

what would i like to see changed? lemme counter that with the FPS i DID like. Metriod Prime. why did i like it? a side my general 'Metriod is cool' fanboyishness, the exploration. most the FPS games I've played are Linear, sure different entry points maybe, but more or less, go here, kill this dood, repeat yippy -.-. I'd like that seance of exploration to come back, the seanse of 'well i COULD go kill that guy, but, haven't been this way yet, dose it contain goodies? lets find out'. also, colors, -.- more then gray and/or brown, the real world isn't gray/brown why the hell should i have to settle for it in a game? cause its easier to do, fuck that, grow a set an gimme something worth looking at
