...that's pretty impressive. Heck, most of them seem to be on there nowadays, asking you to call them, posting embarrassing pictures and status updates like "Call me -Gramma" and "Did you get my email -Gramma" and "Bingo tonight! Praise the lord! -Gramma".

But not mine. Mine's an old school, southern baptist type, who has me come over to reprogram her VCR clock when the power blinks. And that's about the extent of her technological know-how. There is absolutely no way this woman will ever operate a mouse, other than calling me to remove one from the trap and throw the body in the woods.

My dad's the same way, mostly through lazyness. My mom, however, is a recent convert and has started learning to use a browser. Sure, it's mostly to watch Golden Girls and other old shows on Justin.tv, but as you may know, once you start internetting, you run into a problem that you have to solve, leading to another problem, repeat as needed until you're a master interwebhead.

But I digress, are any of your family members staunch Luddites? Are there some that want to learn but are held back by a lifetime of non-computing? If so, do you help them?

Conversely, are there any of your family members who are internet savvy that you wish weren't? And if so, why?

I'm not too close to much of my extended family. My grandparents on my dad's side have already passed away and my grandpa from my mom's side also passed away. This just leaves my grandma who is an old fashioned Japanese farm wife. She's very nice and nurturing toward my family but she doesn't seem too intersted in using a lot of new technology. Of course she still knows how to use a cellphone (not sure if she knows how to text).

Well, when most of my extended family insisted on friending me on facebook, it inadvertently made coming out happen a lot sooner than I had expected.

Awkward.
