Have you ever been cleaning or rummaging through a pile of old stuff and come across something so flippin' cool that you just can't believe your eyes?

See, I'm in the process of cleaning out a closet filled with ten years worth of junk. There has always been an old Sega Genesis box in the corner, and I always thought it was just that. After all, I already have two now defunct Genesis's that stopped working years ago, either through age or missing cords. But as I was moving this box, I couldn't but notice that it was rather heavy for an old empty box. Something is inside. So I open it up and find...one of the most beautiful things a nostalgic gamer could ever lay their eyes on.

Aside from the uber-yellow cardboard, this thing looks like it could be brand new. The system, two controllers, all the necessary cords, instruction manual, even the game it was bundled with are all in their original spots. This beautiful time capsule has been sitting in my closet for well over a decade without me even knowing about it.

If you'll excuse me, I have a working Genesis for the first time since I was in the third grade. I know how I'm spending the rest of my day. (I still have plenty of Genesis games that had been collecting dust)

When I was young, I had all the pokemon games that were out (all of them up to silver and gold) then for some reason I couldn't find my Yellow and Red. I couldn't find them for maybe 2 years then I found them in a place I thought I searched like a thousand times over. This happened to me numerous times with ONLY my pokemon games, they were like cursed or something.

I was looking through my grandfather's old stuff while cleaning his garage and he said I could have anything I wanted if I found it. So I'm just sorta casually moving stuff aside, most of it sports stuff (he was a sports nut, particularly hockey, and the reason I got into hockey), and I find this nice wood Chest. its locked, and the lock was rusted out, so I asked if i could break it and he said sure.
<spoiler=When I opened the box, GOLD lit my eyes>http://www.coolhockey.com/images/histories/ccm_pittsburgh_penguins_vintage_jersey.jpghttp://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j134/ErikMBarr/86-87PhilBourqueBack.jpg

A signed rookie Mario Lemieux jersey was sitting it in, nicely folded, on top of a signed Ole Two Niner 1985 Jersey. Both are hanging in my room, in glass cases (they arent wat are pictured in the Spoiler, thats just what I could find on a google search, since I'm away at college and wont be home for another 2 months).

Count yourself lucky. I lost my copy of Pokemon Gold about ten years ago, and to this day my eyes still gravitate toward the spot it was last seen now and then. And it has never magically re-appeared ;_;

I was walking home one day looking through stuff on the local council cleanup piles, when I happened upon a NES in its box. I did a massive double-take after walking past it nearly breaking my neck in the process, but I quickly grabbed it and ran home as fast as I could, hahaha.

It was working perfectly, had a Zapper light gun and is one of my favourite finds :)
