Get ready to have your hair blown back. It looks like the latest "shocking" scandal [http://globalgrind.com/news/george-zimmermans-attorney-don-west-selfie-daughters-instagram-photo] is a pic of Zim's lawyer, Don West, getting ice cream with his daughter with the text "We beat stupidity celebration cones #zimmerman #defense #dadkilledit". The daughter posted the pic with the text to instagram.

I don't get it. Seems like a tempest in the teacup. Implications about implications based on a hashtag, yikes that sounds rather tenuous! What exactly is the problem here? The media just seems to be saying BE OUTRAGED without even explaining why. If you're looking to steer public opinion in favor of the prosecution, it pays to be less explicit when don't actually have anything. In poker this is called bluffing. Here is a quote:

Let's not even get into how inappropriate this is.

Yes, lets not go into this. How convenient. If they actually were had to explain how this is inappropriate, it would make plain how little substance there is to this complaint. I may just swoon from the sheer inappropriateness of it all, Oh THE HUMANITY!

The only tangible (i.e. non implied) complaint in the whole thing:

But, let's note that she hashtagged #dadkilledit in the courtroom for a murder trial, where someone was actually killed.

It's just nothing. Look at this mountain, LOOK AT IT! I SAID LOOK AT IT! *grabs your head and shoves your face into a molehill*

Everybody knows, even squares know, that "killing it" is slang of for doing a good job at something.

The rest is just empty moral posturing:

Zimmerman?s defense team spokesperson Shawn Vincent practically defends the Instagram

Only monsters defend the indefensible! Just shameful! Now make like Paula Deen and get grovelin'.

Really?! C'mon son!

Hmmm.... really indeed. Makes you think bro, makes you think.

At any rate, I predict that the media will shift focus away from the details of the case and towards personal attacks on figures surrounding the case. Celebrity gossip is much more appealing and gives angry partisans a tangible target to attack. In other words, Don West is about to become a media villain.

captcha: "bait the line", these are too funny!

I find it offensive because she doesn't know how to use proper quotation.

"We beat stupidity"-celebration cones is acceptable. That is not.

Yes, that's all I'm going to say about this topic.

So wait, what is this about again? dad's on trial, something good happened I take it, they got ice cream and took a photo... when do I get offended again? Also, is this the Zimmerman that shot that Trayvon kid? I didn't really care about that case specifically, I was just concerned about the whole "no castle laws, let criminals walk up and rob your ass because some dude shot some kid".

And last question; what the hell is a hashtag? I mean, I know what what a hashtag literally is, i mean in this case specifically. I've never given a damn about twitter, so most of the time I see one, I can understand the English parts, but not the symbol parts. Is it a subject?

that sentence makes no sense. i don't expect proper grammar and punctuation but for fucks sake throw in a comma or full stop somewhere so i don't have to read it 5 times to understand it.
i would have accepted:

we beat stupidity. celebration cones.
we beat stupidity, celebration cones.
we beat stupidity! celebration cones!!!!!
we beat stupidity - celebration cones.
we beat stupidity ----> celebration cones
