I solved the problem of my car exhaust being broken by going to a car repair centre and paying a mechanic to fix it.

I solved mine using money.

I got my tv working again this morning by hitting it repeatedly and calling it stupid. I'd tried everything I could think of, but nothing had worked.

I should be violent more often!

Any problem can be fixed with money. Or duck tape. Looots and lots of duck tape.
I find duct taping money to the problem as being less helpful than I originally thought.

The air-conditioning unit in my dorm room has a hose leading to the outside. However, it had a crack in it and when let hang, it had this annoying buzzing sound like there were wasps in it. To fix it, I proped it up with a pencil on my bedpost. But, management came to "fix it" over the weekend while I was gone and decided to take the hose off and replace it. They haven't come back... and it's getting cold outside...

Also, the end of the zipper on my jacket had been pinched and wouldn't insert so I could zip it. I wedged between the thin gap with a plastic card. It broke off half of the slider, but that has given it room to zip, so problem solved.

The quartz ampule containing my SiGe crystals keep cracking during the crystal growth process. It's either due to temperature difference causing thermal stress and fracturing the quartz, or it's due to pressure differences inside and outside the ampule.

I'm going to start doing my growths with the ampule filled to ~1/4 atmosphere pressure argon, so see if that fixes the problem. If it's the thermal stress, then I might have to use another material. Perhaps Pyrex, because I need the large temperature difference for the crystal. Either way, it should be solved by next week.

Then you're not using enough duck tape! Or duck taping enough money.

I have sat on my ass, lurking around the escapist whilst my girlfriend plays Fallout 3.
So that's a bit no.

Is your bike fixed wheel or combination gear? Either way if your chain is falling off loosen up the 2 bolts on your back wheel. Then pull your wheel back with one hand until the chain has good tension and then tighten with your free hand. If you have a bike with combination gears you may need to fix or replace your chain guide. As seen here http://www.ehow.com/video_4436447_apply-chainguide-mountain-bike.html

My chain was loose on my bike, turns out my back wheel moved forward when I stacked, so I fixed it by hammering the back wheel until the chain was tight again, hammers are fun.

I re-tightened the rocker cover on my cars engine with my socket set (after I noticed it was weeping oil whilst filling the windscreen reservoir). And replaced the battery on my ride on mower after it died and failed to turn over. Yeah my weekends are kinda mundane.

Hey buddy, I'm an Engineer. Which means I solve problems. So I would say to solve your practical problems you should use a gun. And if that don't work: use more gun.

I prefer conundrums of philosophy; like, what is the nature of beauty?
Have I been ninja'd? I don't know. I'm just gonna consider myself spy'd.
