Seeing as MvC3(sequel to one of the most popular, and besting selling fighting games of all time) is coming out in a little less than 2 weeks, I thought it would be nice to post up just a bit of info and stuff, just for people who haven't been paying that much attention to the whole dev process, and still really want the game...so let's get started!
[hr]
[HEADING=3]Gameplay[/HEADING]

Last month, during the CES expo held in Las Vegas, Capcom decide to have a little tournament with some of the top players from MvC2, to see what they could do with the new one, and we finally got some video!

First up is, Justin Wong(using Storm/Trish/Chun-li) vs. Marn(using Zero/C.Viper/Dante)

And next up we have TrophyClub(using Ammy/MODOK/Morrigan) vs. Marn(using Doctor Doom/C.Viper/Dante)
[hr]
[HEADING=3]DLC[/HEADING]

Next up, Capcom finaly went and released some gameplay shots of the 2 announced DLC characters so far, Shuma-Gorath and Jill Valentine. Hope you enjoy them!

[hr]
[HEADING=3]Other[/HEADING]
Other than that, 2 other things were announced...
1)Apparently the game's netcode is being done by the same people who did SF4/SSF4 (opinions may vary on this)
2)The famous/infamous character select screen theme from MvC2 "I Wanna Take You For A Ride" is apparently going to be getting a few remixes put into MvC3 =P So hope you like the song..
[hr]
So with that all done with...hype? opinions? etc?

I love the MvC games but I'm no expert. My friends and I mostly do random button mashing and trip out on the craziness.
Sure it's fun but I don't think I'll be buying it at launch.
In fact, (considering Capcom was talking about dlc for it a month ago) I'll probably just wait for Super MvC3 or whatever they call their goty version. They're notorious for overpricing dlc.

Pretty much the same for me. I like how they look and how they are presented, but I honestly suck at the vs. Fighter games. Though as you say, I doubt there is going to be a "Super MvC3", they haven't done it with any of the previous vs. games so I doubt they are going to start now, which is why I think they are putting a big emphasis on DLC for MvC3. The last game has lasted 10 years so far, and is still being played, with DLC, they can keep adding onto the game, without having to update it, even when the game goes past its prime.

I've been looking forward to this ever since the XBLA/PSN re-release of MvC2. MvC2 is probably one of my favorite games, even if I am terrible at it.

Shuma looks awesome, those guys did a great job.

This actually will be my first "VS" game to actually play and own. I've played snippets of MvC2 and TvC from friends but I never had the time to fully master it and I kind of found them slightly difficult to play.(especially MvC2) Will it be slightly easier this time around?

From what I heard, controls are pretty much unchanged. They did add in a Simple Mode playstyle, which is more akin to TvC's Wiimote play style, other than that I haven't heard anything else. There might have been a tutorial/trial mode mentioned, but I can't think of anything atm.

So, it'll mostly be like other fighters, where it will be learn through playing, and training in training mode.

I've learned that I've been saying Amaterasu wrong for all these years...

Turns out you don't say the U at the end.

So it's pronounced Am-ah-teh-ras.

Historically, they never had dlc for the MvC games either so it can go either way.
At either rate, for these kinds of games, it doesn't pay for me to get them at launch price. I only ever play them when friends are over and they seem pretty enthralled with Blops right now.

What the fuck! Seriously?

I'm still pronouncing the u. It sounds better.

Thanks for the info now I'm even more jazzed and impatient!

I'll still probably be playing BlazBlue when it comes out though. That game could take.....awhile.

I have a odd, slightly relevant question.
I wanted to love MvC2 cover from XBLA.
But the Xbox controller just didn't feel right for certain button combo's.
I could never get a nice, easy Y + B. It was always either.

Does anyone know if this will get "fixed" somehow?
Or was I the only one with this issue, and is totally due to some weird defect on my hand?

I'm glad I'm not the only one.
I guess we had no way of knowing since all we had to go on in Okami was "nummedy numma nummy numma num" over and over again.

But yeah, I'm looking forward to Marvel Vs Capcom 3. I know I'm gonna suck at it, but I'll have fun making a mockery of Spider-Man, Vietiful Joe and someone else I haven't chosen yet anyway.

I've got the special edition of this game already pre-ordered, and partially paid.

SO looking forward to this. I'm a fighting game nut (even if I suck at them), and I love superheroes, so this is kinda like my holy grail.

Really hoping they add Frank West and some version of Megaman in at some point as DLC. Frank seems like a safe bet, since apparently he was cut really late in development, and he's basically done.

As for Megaman, I hope they throw us a curveball and give us MegamanEXE. He's got all kinds of crazy moveset possibilities.

Really, those two are the only ones I need for this game to really feel COMPLETE. Otherwise, I'm totally happy with the roster as it is.

I'll probably use some combination of Deadpool, Captain America, Spiderman, Mike Haggar, Amaterasu, and Arthur.

I'm really hoping they haven't dumbed it down too much. One of the biggest reasons MvC2 was so great is because of how incredibly difficult it was to play. I can't even fathom how much practice it takes to get to Justin Wong levels in that game.

I've already got my team planned! MODOK, Haggar, and either Captain America or Sir Arthur. But plans will change as I actually play the game. I wished they would put in Bullseye, but this roster is still awesome. I know there will be more DLC characters, so here's hoping for Bullseye, Megaman and Frank West (Three guys I wanted the most)!

I'm doing a team of Dante, Deadpool and either Trish or Zero. More than likely Zero will get the third slot because Trish has-a no sword with her guns.

Actually, with Strider, and Frank West, Mega was shafted because Capcom thought he was too "boring."

FUCKING BULLSHIT.

i <3 Zero and stuff, but i would like Megaman and Strider back at the very least as DLC.

Gonna be playing it on the PS3 version, and access to a 360 version.

Only fighting game i actually got good at was Brawl, but im not sure its saying much.

Actually, they said that Megaman CLASSIC might not have enough variety for this game. They never said that one of his other incarnations wouldn't have a shot at DLC.
