Some NPCs are just jerks

Okay, so most games (RPGs particularly) have NPCs. But sometimes you come across a couple that just rub you the wrong way. Give me your examples (and Navi doesn't count, so don't bother mentioning her; she's technically equipment).

My example is Gurdy at Mount Bur-Omisace in Final Fantasy XII. Specifically, the Trickster hunt.

Okay, so Gurdy's climbing the mountain and she gets attacked by bandits. This giant white Chocobo comes out of nowhere and chases them off. So what does she do? "This giant white Chocobo helped me out when I was in a fix; go out there and kill it!"

So which NPCs are jerks in your games?

Edwin Odesseiron from Baldur's Gate 1/2. He was a jerk, though a very funny jerk to have around.

Also Colin Moriarty in Fallout 3. Unlike Edwin though, I was much more liable to killing Moriarty in all of my games. >_>

I recently played through Mass Effect 1 on account of it having been an incredibly cheap purchase. Those party NPCs are the manifestation of all that is bad with videogaming. Every overpowered Mortal Kombat character, every cheap Mega Man boss, every frustrating Ninja Gaiden boss, all are rendering in the demonic pixels of Mass Effect's party members.

What the hell guys, what the hell.

The one in the CoD maps that bunnyhop, snipe, and shoot rockets. They can't possibly be human, humans aren't that retarded. They're obviously bots.

I can't control him outside of combat so he is still a NPC, but I'll list another one. The Imperial Guards from Oblivion. I accidentally pick up a mug at a inn and they try to kill me for it.....

I've just been trying out Battlestar Galactica Online for the past week and I have to say the NPC's are major jerks. I'll just be mining under the impression the area I'm in is perfectly safe, next thing I know a Cylon ship FTL's in out of nowhere. I decide to just leave the area in the hope that it will stop chasing me when I'm out of range and he has no hope of catching up to me, it ends up chasing me forever and catching up about five minutes later so we can do this dance all over again.
The game is really starting to be a major pain in the ass and I hope they fix these sorts of thing in the final game.

So he sends you to check out a collector ship, and he doesn't tell you its a trap because he thinks that if I know its a trap I might scare the collectors into running away, or something. This is just fucking stupid.

So he spends billions bringing me back, and sends me into a trap without even bothering to inform me its a trap? What a fucking ass.

Granted that whole mission required every character to be completely fucking stupid. TIM for not telling you its a trap. You for actually going along with all this. The collectors for completely and utterly failing to capture you even though they have every advantage. And Joker for parking the Normandy right next to the thing, then escaping by driving right in front of the collector ship.

But still, fuck the illusive man and him trying to be whatever the hell he was trying to be at that moment.

What did he think I would do if I knew it was a trap? Scare the collectors? Its a collector ship, your going there no matter what. Fucking jackass. The whole situation was just so god damn more stupid then it had to be. And it was started by TIM.

Fuck you Illusive Man. I hope I can kill you in ME3. After Shadow Broker, I know where you live.
