I was on another roleplaying site trying to hire others to help create some various icons (The ones I have currently have are garbage), and I hopped in the "writers" channel, and linked the site that outlines most of my lore.

They were fairly impressed until they got to my "Madgod" character, to which they sufficiently thrashed. They called him a massive Mary Sue and a bunch of other crap. Now, some of their complaints had merit and I edited his section to reflect some of that. I'm not a brick wall, I will change some things about him I feel a commentator is correct. But at this point there was no talking to him. It became a barrage of over-exaggerations and insults.

What they couldn't realize is the Madgod was not really designed to be roleplayed with directly. If he is, it's probably going to be just a conversation. He's an NPC. A questgiver. The boss.

Yes, in my lore, he does effectively own the planet. Once again, that's not a plot point that happened over night. Nay, in fact it was a gradual thing that happened over the course of a couple decades, and more than one war with him involved. I feel no matter what kind of "Big boss" character I would have had, it would not work because they would have to be powerful and intelligent. In my setting, there kind of HAS to be that kind of character. I could point out several movies where a big boss (Good or bad) was some ultra powerhouse.

Anyway, that's my defense.

I don't mean to look for some kind of assurance from others. But if anyone is interested in looking my setting up and comment for themselves (Preferably over private messages), I will assuredly appreciate the multiple feedback.
