I don't know shit about the origins of dubstep, and as far as Skrillex is concerned, I definitely enjoyed the songs he did that featured the video game samples and that one song he did for Mortal Kombat 2011.

I'm gonna be totally honest: I thought dubstep was a relatively new genre, like... less than 10 years old. So I'm totally ignorant about the "days of yore". Anyone mind enlightening me?

Oh, and feel free to hate me for those last few sentences (as I'm sure at someone will), as I also listen to [mostly underground] rap music on a regular basis. Still waiting for my fighting game with that hip-hop inspired soundtrack, and no, the Def Jam games don't count.
