some RPG help

I've seen so many RPG threads move in and out of here. Now it's my turn.

I've been pretty bored lately, so I'm in need of a simple RPG to pass the time. I don't wanna play something complex like Fallout 3, because I never get into those kinda RPG's Can anyone help me find an RPG that's simple to play? I'm kinda just getting into the genre.

If you're looking for simplicity in an RPG, then you're outta luck, at least in the PC front. I don't know about the consoles.

hmmm, im not sure, i do know a great JRPG.
For Gameboy advanced you cant go wrong with Golden Sun.

Golden Sun 2 is my favorite, i personally think its better than the first one but, they both are great games.

There both long games but simple, you can customize a lot but its nothing extremely drastic or confusing.
Its got fun bosses, insane puzzles, awesome Music, cool powers and Summons, and it looks great, especially for the GBA.
Id go with GS2, at the start of the game it will tell you everything you need to know up till its beginning of the story so you wont be too confused.
But if you transfer Data from the first one you have a shot at getting the 2 most powerful summons in the game near the end.

Demon's Souls. As far as RPG elements are concerned in terms of stats and such its fairly basic. Put points into whatever attribute your weapon of choice gets buffed from. Put points into HP until you feel comfortable. Put points into your mana bar if you use magic.

Pretty simple stuff. Just make sure you pick a weapon (or type of weapon) and stick with it. Don't put all your points in strength only to find you want to use the dexterity based uchigatana.

Oblivion, Fallout, any final Fantasy, Any Dragon Quest, Pokemon, Disgaea well pretty much anything by Nippin Ichi, Star Ocean are all games I can think of at the top of my head

OK let me just say, Disgaea and Demon's Souls could literally be the two worst possible answers to this question lol, although great games.

If you want simplicity and have a GBA, you're in luck man. Pokemon, all the way. But if you're not into Pokemon, you also have a host of other great options. Dragon Quest 1 and 2 were released for the GBC, and are awesome games.

And I'm suprised no one else has said this, but WoW is SUPER simple to play (unless you're raiding or something), and can be a great way to waste time. Plus, you can get the 10 day trial. That's what I would recommend.

Also, if you think Fallout 3 is complex... maybe you shouldn't be playing rpg's.

PS3 - Download Final Fantasy VII from the Playstation Network.

PS2 - Get Final Fantasy X. Also, Rogue Galaxy is epic.

GBA - Get the remake of Final Fantasy VI.

Wii - Uh...

Also, get a DS and a copy of The World Ends with You, as well as the remake of Chrono Trigger. You won't regret it.

EDIT: As for Final Fantasy XII on the PS2, unless you're already quite familiar with Final Fantasy, don't get it. XII is not a good example of the series at all; it has some good qualities, like a cool battle system and great political intrigue, but the characters fall flat and the game as a whole is simply not indicative of the series as a whole. I also recommend not starting with Final Fantasy XIII; it was quite good, but not a good starting point for the series. Start with VI, VII, or X. Play them, and love them. Because they're amazing.

My huge love for the game makes me want to say "Legend Of Dragoon"...it's for ps1, but it's still one of my favorites (for all it's faults i love it more). However if you look it up and that's not your thing i say go for a Final Fantasy. Just don't get FFIX, that shits waaaay too complicated for just passing the time

I have a PS3, PS2, Gameboy Advanced, and Nintendo Wii.

PS3: Enchanted Arms, Eternal Sonata could do. (From what little I played of them they weren't bad at all.) I'd go with Dragon Age: Origins (if you don't mind not having things turn-based.)

PS2: Xenosaga 1-3, Final Fantasy 10 (If you can ignore Titus' voice.), Disgaea (Though less simple in ways.), Rogue Galaxy, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner.

Gameboy Advance: Golden Sun 1&2, Fire Emblem, Mega Man: Battle Network.

Wii: Perhaps when a new Pokemon comes out?

Since you listed the Wii and PS3 and PS2 here's some others to look for..

Gamecube: Tales of Symphonia, Final Fantasy Crystal Cronicles.

Playstation: Breath of Fire 4, Sodukoden (Don't know if that's spelt right.), any of the older Final Fantasy collections (Including Chrono Trigger.), Legend of Mana, Final Fantasy 7 (If you love cutscenes.) and Xenogears.

Wii Shop Channel: Super Mario RPG.

I'm not huge on RPG's, so I can only suggest Tales of Symphonia, assuming you have a gamecube memory card with tons of space, because I have no idea to delete data from the Wii. Or, I can suggest Kingdom Hearts. Any of them, really. They're pretty short, and they're not turn based, which automatically gives it 1,000,000 points in my book.

This is an RPG in which NPCs actually breathe. Go into first-person perspective and see for yourself.

You are aware that NPCs in World of Warcraft breathe, right? Seriously, it's not that big a deal.

I'm afraid i cna't help but noticed you missed Fallout 3 and Elder Scrolls Oblivion their buddy.
Given i'm not much a j-rpg fan and don't want to get itno a flame war but if you're going to recomend role playing games go the full 9 yards and give them a catalogue of all the good rpgs in said system.

PS2 has a shitload of (J)RPGs. I recommend Valkyrie Profile 2. So does the GBA (FF6). As for the Wii, there's Arc Rise Fantasia is a good game just released in the US, as well as Tales of Symphonia 2, and there are some RPGs from GC you can play in it (Skies of Arcadia, Baten Kaitos, ToS). Pretty simple all of them.
