Sooo, anyone know anything good for me and my gf to watch? Or good shows in general?

EDIT: We art bad at making choices.....

What are your favorite genres? This could help in the selection process.

I would suggest any Stargate series (SG1, Atlantis, and Universe). I second Quad08's recommendation of Burn Notice, as that show owns all other shows, right now. Firefly, Scrubs, um, and Johnny Bravo are good, too.

Other than that, I'm not well-versed on current shows (I don't live in the U.S. right now, so I wouldn't see any new shows that aren't Taiwanese, and I don't own a TV, for that matter, where I do live).

The best comedy currently on television is 30 Rock; if you enjoy it, also check out Community, the sitcom that shouldn't be good, but somehow is.

If you haven't seen The Wire, everyone should.

Stargate Universe, The mentalist, NCIS, The Big Bang Theory, Mythbusters, American dad and the Cleveland Show.

That's the best of what I'm watching right now anyway.

Look up Black Books and watch a few episodes. If you want dark, drunken, irish asshole humour, grubby, english, run-down shop setting, and some of the most razor sharp satire and wit... Don't watch Black Books, because I've overhyped it now..

But seriously, it has all that and is very good, depending on your sense of humour. It had me vomiting with delight. Dylan Moran made it and he's my favorite comedian of all time.

Have you seen Inception? If not, fix that.

Otherwise... Back to the Future?

Kill Bill?

Into war movies? A bridge too far?

There are endless choices.

My list of shows are : The Simpsons, Family guy, Doctor Who, Pen and Teller, Mythbusters and House. Those are definately the best shows out there, really.

Go watch Chuck right now. It's the best thing on TV at the moment. At least in the UK where season 4 just started.

Also, I'd recommend Leverage and Castle.

Consider this recommendation seconded. IMO, Chuck is the best series out there, and you'll enjoy it immensely.

Other than that, listen to the people who are recommending anything Stargate, Scrubs and maybe even How I Met Your Mother.
Stargate alone will last you a very long time, so you could settle for just that.

But watch Chuck before that. Don't forget that part.
