So ive seen pulp fiction loads of times and theres something ive just picked up on. When Butch (bruce willis) is talking to his girlfriend and she mentions that she wants a "pot" (pot belly) I thought nothing of it and assumed it was just general nonsense chit chat and it suddenly hit me (I assume most people got this first time but im a little slow) that she was saying she wanted to get pregnant. When butch replies "if you had a pot belly id punch you in it" he is basically saying that he doesnt want a kid

I dont know if im looking to much into this but tarantino despite all of his over the top violence can actually be very subtle with things and a lot of his movies you need to pick up every snippet of dialogue for little easter eggs

Did you pick up on this? Or am I reading into too much?

For bonus points post any little easter eggs (seeing as its easter and all) that youve come across in tarantinos movies. Ill get the ball rolling with the obvious one that vince vega and mr.blonde are brothers

I've heard that interpretation before. I don't think it's intentional, but it's an interesting take on it.

I didn't feel it was supposed to come across that way but it's an interesting theory.
haven't seen pulp fiction in ages, I should dig it out at some point.

Interesting idea but I don't think so.
It could just be her voice but that kind of subtlety doesn't seem like Fabiana's style. I don't think she's clever enough.
I mean she forgot the watch FFS! Next to the bed, on the kangaroo, how hard is that?

Err... yes? Where's that Ranier Wolfcastle "That's The Joke" .jpg when you need it? I thought it was fairly self-explanatory. She says she wants "a pot", Butch jokes "you want some pot?", and she makes it clear that she wants to get pregnant. Not sure why everyone is this thread is dismissing that as some kind of crazy, out-there theory. What other possible interpretation is there?

You could be reading too much into it. I prefer to take that bit at face value, about the difference between visual and tactile pleasures. Fat people are not generally considered beautiful, but a fat person is a lot of fun to touch, and I think that's the kind of observation Tarantino would like to squeeze into a movie.

I thought it was just Tarantino's character interactions, it isn't out of place in the context of any of his movies for that conversation to come up. I don't think it has any hidden meaning.

If you were to ask Tarantino what the true meaning of the conversation was, he probably would say "Whatever you want it to be."

Yea... I thought everyone knew that?
im just a bit slow with these things. I dont know why people are dismissing this because it makes sense. Literally everything she says clarifies my point

She says "a pot looks oafish on a man".

I've always loved Walkens explanation to the little boy in Pulp Fiction, how he starts out telling the intricate story factually, and gradually gets more and more irate and angry at the Japanese as it gets more personal.

The drop in of the line that the kids father died of dysentery is just gross out fantastic when you connect it with the way they kept the watch hidden, and that Walken's character then took the watch and did the same thing.

It's terrible, but really subtle and adds to the initial gross out humour of the scene, especially the constant cuts to the childs face who isn't understanding any of it.
