So i was thinking over some of the recent games i have played and i was thinking of some of the interesting things that iv seen in em.

So my question is what do u think can help make a game interesting?

for me, using actual historical events during the games storyline is pretty cool. Assassin's Creed comes straight to mind cuz iv spent hours jus running around the city with different self-generated goals. like get from one point to another wit out stopping, and the historical accuracies that they have in that game (taking place during the Crusades) made it interesting for me

customization. How much you can modify your character and his gear. It adds heavily to the longevity. That's the first thing I can think of since it's late. I might post more in the morning

You know what makes a game - or anything - interesting? Correct spelling and grammar. That's a whole world of interesting.

I've always gotten a real kick out of random side stories that have nothing to do with the main plot.
like in fable 2 at the very beginning in the cave when you can read the journals of the adventurers who plotted to kill each other over the treasure they found.

Grammar nazis. You can't talk with them, and you can't evade them =P

I really really enjoy customization. And sepped. When it's lot of speed with what's happening (like those times on HL2 and L4D to mention a couple)

I've always liked the Final Fantasy series how it combines magic, swords and gunplay into one coherent, complete package. This obviously isn't applicable to all games but I've always liked that in the FF games. A clever storyline also always helps.
