Something of a conundrum.

I've thought quite extensively about this, and I need that final bit of advice:

I'm getting sick of my 360. The game pricing, constant RROD paranoia, the noise and the lack of any useful applications barring gaming make it seem like a stupid purchase.
If I were to sell it for, say, 335euro, with 4 games and two controllers, could I get a PC that could run HL2 on full specs?
Not having to use this shit-weak family PC in the living room would be great, and I could access a wealth of indie games, as well as Steam. I already have a decent monitor and we have a wireless router. Would 400euro cover a mid-high range PC?
The tradeoff would be a lack off access [before upgrades, of course], to new releases like Mass effect 2.

Help?

Excuse the badly-written-ness.

Well... I suppose it could be possible. But you'll be cutting it very close. The source engine (where HL2 runs on) is pretty well optimised, so you won't need a cutting edge system for it. However, for 400 EUR you won't be able to buy a good base computer for you to eventually buy upgrades for. I'm not up to specs with hardware prices, but I'm sure there's other people around who may help you with that.

Possibly, if you chose well. I know you can build an alright gaming PC in the US for around $600. Don't know how much more the euro is worth than the dollar, so that's why I'm going with possibly.
