Something that has angered me lately...

I'm tired of having some games that have achievements that can only be received playing a live match. Good examples are old guitar hero games, castle crashers, marvel vs. capcom 2 etc. Shouldn't companies understand that once a game isn't as popular it will be played online less? I rarely see any matches for older games any more, ones with tons of live achievements. It doesn't seem fair to someone who jumped on the wagon late or doesn't have live...anyone else notice this as well?

I hate that. The Game The Darkness has an achievement where you have to play 250 online matches...... that will never happen

...Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is meant specifically for multiplayer. Arcade mode is mostly in there to get points to buy characters, but the new version didn't require that. Although yes, it is annoying, but you shouldn't be freaking out about it unless you are an achievement whore.

Well I hate to admit it but I am an achievement whore to some degree, normally on stuff I really like only though. I'm just getting sick of this happening with every other game I have.

It is annoying, same sort of problem for me. However achievements, for me at least, are just something to do when you've played through the game, they're not essential. Nice if you can get them, not a biggie if you can't.

The Rainbow Six games are very guilty of this crime, most of the acheivments are online (Which I don't have) and I could only get about seven of them.

It bothers me in the sense that I'll never have 100% completion in a game I KNOW I can do it in. SO bothersome.

Is it really that big of a deal? Can't you just get another achievement for a different game, and get the same amount of points added to your gamer score?

So you expect to be rewarded for joining the party late? If you are that worried about achievements then buy the games within a few days of launch.
