To me, Johnny Cash's version of Hurt fits perfectly with Batman.

Bruce Wayne's lifelong war against crime and the physical repercussions of it. Also the memory of, not only his parents death but the events that have happened to him as Batman i.e the creation of Joker, Two-Face and his loss to Bane.

Everyone who he has ever cared about leaving him one way or another. Barbara Gordon/Batgirl was paralyzed, Dick Grayson/Robin I left him to become Nightwing, Jason Todd/Robin II was apparently killed then came back as a villain

The meaningless existence of Bruce Wayne's public persona and how he will fail to be anything other than Batman.

Not only his unwillingness to give up "the mission" despite how people react to him but how his sense of vengeance is never ending
