Actually there was one other bearable variation of Amy Rose to exist as well. Sadly only the readers of the British Sonic Comic ever got to see her. Sigh...
I'll miss that variation. It was a good one. She got tired of Sonic's shit and went off to do her own thing. With a crossbow.

Truthfully it's one of the few things about the Sonic comic universe I always had to give them some props for. Everything, no matter how unpopular or dumb it turned out later, had to be canon later in the comic. Everything from Amy's backstory to Sally's horrid old color scheme had to be explained. So Amy to this day is designed as a stalker-level fan of Sonic who used a magical ring of acorns (not shitting you) to age progress... making her a 10-year-old in a 16-year-old frame.

Which is... even CREEPIER than the original story, but they've stuck with it.

Very creepy It's why I am glad the comics never made Amy a love interest they realized just how creepy she was and keep her as sort of a little sister character with a crush while giving him actual love interests his own age.
