So yes, it really is happening, Sonic Adventure is coming to XBLA and PSN. *Nerdgasm*

Well Years ago that was my first console game I ever had back on the gamecube, when Sonic Team could still be called a good game company without getting made fun of. Well I was planning on doing this bit in a month or so but seeing as I'm sick and the news is out, why not post it now?

Sonic Adventure 1 (And the extended and improved Directors cut) were fantasic games, the levels were varied, the hub world worked well and the cast was small. This was back when the cast was just Sonic, Knucles, Tails, Amy, and Robotnick. For the story though, they added two more playable characters, E-102 (A robot made by Robotnick) and Big the cat.

The good thing was this:
The Robot died by by the end, so he was only in that game to explain Robotnick's side of things, which was rather neat.

On to Mr. Big, how can you hate Mr. Big? He never really talked, and his campain was all about fishing, Which was kinda cool. (Hard, but a little slower and relaxing)
But the most import thing was this:

This guy-

Was voice by this guy.

So the next time you rip on Big, your ripping on Duke Nukem.
The Characters, weren't to badly voiced, but the game made up for it. Thier were plenty of secrets, and minigames, and even little bits were you fly an airplane. Not to mention the experiment/bad guy named Chaos that worked for Robotnick, was very cool, since it had so many different variations. Oh and did I mention that Eggman was just a joke the Sonic characters called Robotnick? Yup, at the beging of the game he says his name is Robotnick. (Not to mention all of the Robotnick bosses were very fun and challenging)

Finally, the music. Yes this main theme for this game is almost as good as the Sat Am opening. And you can tell alot of work was put into it.
And as a cool bonus, at the end of levels as Sonic, you would rescue animals from capsules. (Which could later be used for the crazy addicting Chao garden minigame)

So this game being remastered for live could be possibly be the smartest thing Sega has done in years, what do you all think?

Edit: I have always been a fishing nut, for me I found the Big section kinda fun. (Probably just me)

Oh and as stated on IGN, little downloadable online games seem perfect for the Sonic series.

I never fully completed the gsme because I never managed to get very far with Biggs the cat, whose fishing sim style of gameplay I found wasn't worth the hastle.

He only had about 6 missions. (And one piss easy boss fight) The fishing was much easier in the Directors Cut version.

True, but it was a good attempt at making a 3D game. (Better than most other tries Sonic team did)

I'm sorry, but my spelling nazism couldn't let the typo in the title fly.

You spelled "Redemption" wrong. You're missing the P.

(sorry)

Like I posted in the news post, this is going to be the first game i actually have a reason to get microsoft points for. Nothing has ever made me want to download a game on xbl this MIGHT just be the exception.

The only 3D Sonic game I played was a little bit of Sonic Heroes in Toys R Us, which was rubbish. I'll just download the trial and see what it is like.

I FUCKING HATE BIG THE CAT!!!
The problem I had with Sonic Adventure was that it was too little Sonic and more random nonsense. The Sonic bits were excellent, but most everything else wasn't.
And the fishing, oh the fucking fishing. The worst idea they ever had (even worse than Sonic '06). Big has no impact on the story (just Chaos' tail was attached to his frog), so he is just around to fish for no reason. He could have easily been cut from the story and nothing would have been lost. Only notable thing he did was fly the plane off Robotnik's battleship, which someone else could have easily done.
I was trying to get all emblems, so I was forced to do his side missions. I found 1 was truely impossible. The carnival area fishing bit (1st level) final missions tasks you with catching a fish over a certain weight. After many solid hours of trying, I couldn't get 1 that was even close. One that size just didn't spawn in that area.
So a big fat FUCK YOU to whoever thought of putting a retarded purple fishing cat in a Sonic game. The chao things can also fuck off and be killed by Kratos.

I couldn't beat the game because I couldn't stand the part with Big, but I can't rip on him anymore because I have too much respect for Duke Nukem.

Ohh god, Heroes was pure tripe. Adventure 2 seemed like the series was heading down hill, Heroes confirmed that theory.

I'm just posting in here to say that reading this title makes me imagine a mashup of Sonic and Red Dead Redemption.

Twas DX that I played. The controls for the fishing were awkward and incosistent (especially when trying to move the lure around underwater). Catching the fish was a crapshoot, it was never consistent enough for the tension bar thing to make sense (if it fills up, the line breaks and Big then commits suicide aparently since he loses a life, that is all I could figure out).

Him being voiced by Duke isn't a point in his favor, it just means he soiled the Duke's badassedness by being the second worst creation in Sega's history (the 32x, Sega CD, and the Saturn at least had some redeeming qualities), with the first being the Sonic spin-off games on the Game Gear (Sonic Drift 1&2 and Sonic Labyrinth).

This is great news, but now all I can think of is Big wearing shades, wielding assault rifles and spouting one liners. xD

I played it to death on my Dreamcast, and still have it for that. I won't be buying it on PSN, for that reason. Plus, I just think SA1 had some of the worst voice acting ever in a SEGA game.

"Watch out! You're gonna crash! AH!" (I wish I could find a clip of that scene to post here.)

I hope they port Adventure 2 also, with the versus modes. Hell, imagine competing chao against other people online.

Im definatly getting this, and 2 if they do.
