Of course it was the ports that killed the PSP! Nothing at all to do with the lack of software, the high prices, the proprietry memory sticks, odd choice of medium, and total lack of advertising. Oh, no.

And look how many of those decision Sony has made again! Dearth of software, stupid and stupidly priced memory cards, high prices, and no advertising.

I've had my Vita since March and I have seen exactly one other person with one. That's atrocious.

Hilariously, I bought the PSP for the ports - I didn't have a PS1 so when I saw I could get the first two Star Ocean games on a PSP, I was pretty psyched. I'm pretty sure the majority of the PSP games I bought were ports - SO 1 and 2, P3P (had the PS2 version but new FeMC? Sold.), Disgaea (also had the PS2 version but portable is fantastic for that game), Disgaea 2 (didn't have the PS2 version), FFT, plus the PSN PSOne titles like FFVII, VIII, IX, Chrono Cross, etc...

When it comes to original PSP games that I enjoyed, it's pretty much a Japanese drumming game a friend lent to me and Monster Hunter.

The only thing unique about the PSP is how much of a failure it is as a movie player, the battery life is a joke and the firmware updates can, just like with the Wii or DS, brick it for no apparent reason.

I prefer to not having to plug my PSP into the wall with the battery out, because even the battery cables get chipped and come unplugged while I'm playing a game.

*looks at how much they're porting PS1 games to PS Vitas*

Glad to see nothing has changed.

Ya know what...let me buy PSP games via PSN and play them on my PS3.... or make a Vita with a TV out..... portables are to small and annoying to enjoy.

The PSP is good because it has Crisis Core, Birth By Sleep, the God of War PSP games and PS1 classics. All of that beats Pokemon.

I prefer my PSP to my DS and 3DS.
