But if misery loves company, then I figure the more people who are miserable, maybe the less overall effect the misery has? Kind of like increasing the surface where an impact is felt decreases the damage caused? I'm following the House line of logic here. >.>

Maybe. But I think Live getting hacked would be a much bigger deal then PSN. Not to diminish the PSN hack. But both being down at the same time because of hackers, that wouldn't be good no matter which way you look at it.

Whatever happened to putting PSN online THIS WEEK so that we could play THE GAMES WE PAID FOR online again?

This week? The week that isn't over yet, so they haven't failed to meet their previously promised launch window yet? Save the bitching for if PSN is still down on Sunday, even though that bitching would still show a skewed since of priority. The important thing here is that they have it more secure before they bring it back up. Not that they get it up as fast as possible regardless of what easily exploitable holes still exist in their security. What would piss you off more: Waiting until next week to play online, or getting to play online today, but having the PSN go down again tomorrow because of yet another attack? I know that if I was asked the same question, my answer is 100% the second choice.

Sorry, but yeah, you're a horrible person for hoping that. Never mind that you have 77 million people to be your company already, some of us actually have both a PSN and an Xbox Live account. I'm already worried about my identity being stolen enough as it is right now; I don't need that doubled because some of some other jackasses who would get into Xbox Live and get my information from them and now two different sets of jackasses have my information to do who knows what with.

You know what you should hope happens to make you feel better? That the FBI, Homeland Security, and so on manage to find the people responsible for the Sony hack and bring the full extent of the law to bear on them.

Internal Testing? THE ONLY REAL TEST IS TO MAKE IT PUBLIC.

Internal testing should be skipped. For anything. Including biological weapons. Just test them out in the real world.

They are testing security, not functionality. Unless you're an extremely good hacker, there's absolutely nothing you could add to the testing process.

Its going to be long road back. I say at least a month until everything is back to where it was before the crash.

Well, you must be psychic because some posts in the forums are saying that PSN will be down until the end of May. I just want PSN back up before summer.
