My PS3's eject function recently fucked up so it only ejects once every 40 odd presses, so is it firstly worth sending an out of warranty, backwards compatible PS3 for repair or get a new one.

Secondly, is the service quick and cheap (I am not expecting it to be a tenner but I don't want to be paying £100+ for it).

Don't know how much it costs for repair but I'm wondering if you could buy a used slim and a PS2 for the same price? Also, you could sell it on ebay for parts etc.
