Whatever they choose to call it, the real question here is: Will anyone buy it? It lookes flimsy, cheap and an oversimplified version of a Wiimote.

And besides, does anyone who doesn't own a Wii really give a shit about motion controls? I'm sure one of the reasons people bought a PS3/360 is because they didn't want to be waving a wand around at their screen.

Which reminds me: Natal.

Part of why some people didn't buy a Wii was because of the massive amopunts of shovelware, with very little 'mature' titles to be found.
The spastic flailing in front of a TV was a smaller complaint, I think.

On a different note; why do people care so much about the name? Is that really going to influence their decision to buy it or not?

I think I'm going to bet on... "Waggle".

That will be the name! Everyone, buy yourself a waggle for your PS3!
Waggle sounds nice though.

That remote looks dirty. If that thing has rumble, then I'm predicting an upswing in sales in the Single ladies in their 30's-40's demographic.

It's going to be called the PS3mote, just watch. The name will be heralded by fanboys everywhere as one of the most original names to date for a peripheral device!
considering this:

Ill take you up on that bet.

Double if Sony fanboys claim that Nintendo stole the idea from sony first.
I lol'd.
OT: Yeah this seems a bit pointless. If it is some Wiimote ripoff how many games do you think will actually be made to interface with it properly? I mean Nintendo has EVERY game using motion controls and 95% of them use them poorly or throw them in just for the sake of having them. So my question is, what's the point?

It is and forever shall be referred to as the Sony "Light-up Dildo Wand."
So it has been said, so it shall be. So say-eth me.

But seriously, it looks too much like a light-up wand and too much like a sex toy.

...

Does this thing, ah, vibrate? <3

...

I think we can all see where the design team got their inspiration. I just wish it at least looked a little expensive.

Good lord, we are being inundated with vibrator jokes.

It was funny the first time, guys. Not the following 10,000. We get it, the prototype looks like a big stonking sex toy. Can we discuss something else about it now?

On the subject of names, Arc isn't so bad. I can think of some cool arcs. Namely ones that involve Force lightning.

I mean, can't Sony just leave the whole motion sensor control thing alone? They've more or less missed that particular bandwagon...

The name 'arc' is about as good as its going to get really. What else could they call it (that isn't a euphemism)?
