As a Canadian, I don't care.
But it's funny to see fanboys screaming "PS3 is fail" because hulu isn't working right now. Who the hell buys a PS3 to watch videos on hulu.
I know the escapist is unfortunately deteriorating into one of those sites where when you see anything involving the ps3, you'll get a bunch of tools saying "ps3is teh phail." I expect that crap on gamespot or joystiq but this site used to have a lot less amateur pr. My favorite is the dbag who said sony should spend more time on their software; did he even read the article? That's what the spokes-moron said.

As for the hulu thing. If hulu is actively blocking the ps3, why are people asking sony? Shouldn't they be asking hulu? That doesn't make sense. I never tried hulu on the ps3 (my cable provider has on demand) but did it work well on the ps3 to begin with.

How long is it gonna take for Hulu to roll out in the rest of the world anyway?

I'm assuming its a copyright issue (what isnt these days) which surely means we (specifically the UK for me) should get around to reforming our seemingly inadequate copyright law.

It's an easy fix, just let people change their user agent. That is, if it's an actual block and not some terrible version of Flash.

Failing that, you can set up a proxy that washes your user agent for you if you have a spare computer to route your ps3 through.

The real shocker (although not really shocking in terms of Sony) is the fact that they decided they would write their own browser instead of building on top of existing engines out there. I know they added the console zooming/etc for the controllers, but I imagine porting another browser to that UI rather then writing a new one would still have been easier.

Also, as an aside, the text input for the ps3 browser makes me want to hurt things. I can't even type in a full URL directly because it insists on trying to use text completion with a character limit. Never mind the fact that it can't even complete simple idioms like '.c' maybe suggesting '.com' for a URL? AAAAaaaaa rage.
