I could be interesting how this turns out, although the PC can already use the Wiimote and Kinect, not to mention that motion thingy Valve had been pushing the last few years.

This is really sad. I mean, did anybody want this for the PC? Here people are clamoring for Kinect, even writing hacks for it and Sony's like "Uhhh we're right over here." "Look at us!"

It's like there's a pool party going on and everyone is clamoring to get a look at the hot, happening girl, while a less attractive girl tries desperately to let everyone know she's easy.

Umm... Why?

I don't stand four feet away from my computer when I use it. I have a remote control if I want to hook a computer up to a television, as well as various third-party presentation tools that enable me to clumsily use a mouse from a distance. I can already make a Wiimote work with my computer if I really want to.

What functionality is the Move likely to bring to the PC that would actually make me want to shell out for it, assuming I didn't already have one?

arent Sony and MS competitors? (atleast on the Console market) it would mean they have to hand over the operating program(and prototypes) for the move to one of their competitors (unlesss they would only release it for Linux and Apple wich would be stupid since most people use a MS OS)

No, Take your silly casual gamer controls somewhere else, We're busy playing GAMES.
Isn't the PC the MOST casual platform? You know, with all those indie, Popcap, flash and what not games.

OT: Good for them I guess. I don't really care, but it won't really get in my way, so no need to bicker.
Yeah because, Everyone spending 40+ hours a week playing WoW and Everquest 2, or Minecraft, or Killing Floor, or borderlands is totally a casual gamer.

Why would any PC gamer want something on PC that's made by a company that doesn't even support PC gaming? Wee need games, not useless gimmicks.

I don't have anywhere near enough room around my PC to use any sort of motion controller like that. And likely never will. Guess it may work for some people though.

Still not interested. I never could understand, what's so special about those gimmicks. The industry should put more effort in creating better story imo. I hate how people seem to be more impressed by "shiny" than "intellectually stimulating" when it comes to games

Gaah, maybe I'm just too old.

I agree with you. There are so much more they could be improving on then trying to steal a piece of Nintendo pie thats already stale.

You have to look at sales.

Exclude COD and WoW.

Casual games, like guitar hero, rake in the money. They are shit games, and they are gimmicks, but they sell well to all of the idiots who go out and buy them every few months.

Most likely, but they wouldn't just admit that.

Minecraft isn't exactly "hardcore".

Sorry that games requiring more physical skill than most other genres are too "casual" for you. Now excuse me while I go camp in a corner in a generic FPS because that's UB3R H4RDC0R3!!!

If my grandma can play it, it's casual.
You press flashy buttons when they appear on the screen.

and if you are camping in a corner, it probably explains why you like casual games, because you suck at the other ones.

WoW is pretty casual these days. Actually, the only time that I can of when WoW wasn't casual was in vanilla. And that's what, four years ago?
Minecraft is what you make of it. And at that, it can very well be casual.
And mentioning just a few game doesn't make the PC gaming community non-casual. Listen, I'm mostly a PC gamer nowadays, but even I will admit that PC is the most fucking casual platform.
From what I have noticed, for every one non-casual game there is on the PC, there are at least three casual games to balance it all out.

And there are people that spend over 40 hours a week playing major Popcap titles. Just as a heads up before trying to sound über hardcore as a gamer.

Move controllers are pretty much Wii controllers with ping pong balls on the end.

Kinect is far more interesting for hacks and stuff, Move is just boring.

So they're going to take their knockoff gimmick and put it on a platform people probably won't use it for?
Way to know your audience, Sony.

Anyways, Sixense looked pretty good already, and they used FPS games for the demos, too.

I'm not sure why people have to bring bias into news of possible PC support for a common game peripheral. Isn't it a good thing when the applications for any device are not limited to a manufacturers whim? Yet here I see 'not as interesting as Kinect', 'another Wii rip-off', 'the sixense already coming', as if any of that caused the support to be a bad thing.

Personally, I'd love to see a few Move enabled games on the PC, Xbox360 controller support is practically ubiquitous, and it couldn't hurt developers to stretch their legs a little. Portal 2 would be a nice one to try, for example. Motion support doesn't have to be flailing, from a tech demo with the developer he had said some graphics designers actually preferred the Move (biased source, but he sounded quite genuine) over the mouse in some cases.

An opportunity that could've been taken advantage of, right this minute if Move support were enabled, is the PC release of Dead Space 2 could match the limited edition that was released for the PS3, by bundling in the port of Dead Space Extraction with it.

Bet the next Windows patch "accidentally" makes this impossible.
