I would totally have my picture taken with this if I lived near it.

My closest beach is a pebble beach so I don't see one turning up there soon.

is it just me, or is the girl on the right holding a 360 controller?
No it's A white Dual-Shock 3 I've got one myself. They're only available in Asia or through das inter webs.

I wonder how they built that did they have giant plastic molds or something? That's seriously well sculpted. They should've however made sand sculptures of characters. Maybe Ratchet fighting one of resistance's Chimera or something else along those lines.

Am I the only one who misread the title as "Sony sculpts Giant Sand Scarab"?

That's probably one of the lamest sand sculptures I've ever seen.
Don't be such a fanboy.
Fanboy? I'm about as nonpartisan as they come. It has nothing to do with it being a PS3 - a 360 would have been equally lame, and the Wii would have been lamest of all. A sand sculpture of a console is just plain boring - a vaguely rectangular slab of sand, with a couple of controllers at the base. Strictly remedial level stuff, from both a creativity standpoint and a technical one. Compare to what you normally see at sand sculpture events: http://pictureschat.com/tag/sand-sculptures or http://harrisand.org/solo_champion_photos.htm .

Sad thing is. The sand one is still more useful than an actual PS3. *flees terribly quickly*
Yeah you better run :)

I like the simplicity of this idea.
Sony Korea had a lazy day at the beach.
Guilt set in, knowing they were not contributing.
So they built a PS3 and PSP sand sculpture and paid two women to stand by it.
BAM! Advert.
And they can play Volleyball will out feeling guilty that they are out of the office.

[small]Although as ad campaigns go, this is shit.[/small]

But it's made of sand!

Iiiiiii'd say it's a PS controler... no, I mean it. The shape seems just a little bit too slender and the 'wings' if you want to call them that are a tad too big and long for the basic shapes of the X-box controler. I might be wrong, granted but the color itself doens't necessarily mean 360, IMO. Might as well be a special edition white controler for some reason. Hell, ever seen the PSP bundle with Star Wars Battlefront in white with Darth Vader on the back?
