wow...thats completly pointless, so you can use your ps3 to see the weather (which you can see on a tv or a computor without having to turn your ps3 on...to be honest its just another pointless update.

sounds pretty useless
certainly not the kind of thing which will make me go out and buy a ps3
Well, duh? Though I wouldn't be surprised if people bought a PS3 and just used it for Folding@Home/Life with Playstation.

Seriously, you guys are acting like Sony intends this to be a huge leap forward. It's not, it's a nice addon nothing to special about it. I've played around with it, it's about the same thing as the Weather/News Channel on the Wii only it's in one channel instead of two and I get to listen to "Bicycle Race" while stareing at the Earth :D What are you so pissy about? (I'm 100% sure that if the 360 got this sortof update, you'd all be saying "cool" or something, but nope, because it adds a nice touch to the folding@Home project, you're all cynical and say it's pointless. Well, DUH!)

One big word guys. Overpopulation.

So we've got Sony to thank when we're all driving around in dune buggies shooting each other with crossbows and fighting over the last remaining water supply.

is it ironic i just watched Mad Max 30 mins before reading the 'sand dunes and cross bows' comment?

anyways... i leave my ps3 on nearly all the time, and when i'm out at work, or sleeping, it's sitting there, folding@home, and it makes me feel better...

the same way putting the 4p change from my cigs goes in the 'cancer research' tin at my local newsagent
