Correction Helghast. Helghan is the planet.

Seems kinda pathetic that they would be scared of the eyes. You know what fine, if they take that down then I demand they stop advertising insurance companies on billboards!
That was a bad analogy.
...damn, I should've known that...thanks for the correction.

Anyway, I agree with your point. I hate large billboards telling me that I can save money, actually, I dislike all billboards, I don't care if I'm in a city, I wanna look at the damn buildings, not some shaving ad...
It's better when your on the highway lookin at the billboard and then "OH SHIT!" you almost hit a car.

Nothing personal or anything, but you typed up a lot but never actually said anything. A lot of what you typed went over my head, though that may be because I'm tired, and I'm not telling you how to type or respond.

To be honest I don't want to argue too much about this, don't really care too much for debate right now. Agree to disagree maybe?

What happened to you, Canada? You used to be cool. How many other countries have burned down the White House? Seriously, man up or hand in your testicles.
I thought it was England that did that? War of 1812, right?
That we did, but we struck from the then-British "Dominion of Canada"!

What an awesome name it had back then, eh? Canada Day used to be called Dominion Day. Now THAT would make an interesting game... the war of 1812! Play as the Americans and drive back the Imperialists, or bring to bear your full forces on your wayward colony!

Certainly would be more imaginative than "Gears of Killzone War World at Arms 2" or whatever the next generic FPS happens to be.
There were loads of Canadian soldiers though. Basically, Canadians take a lot of cajoling to make them invade somewhere, but if you burn Toronto, they'll fuck your shit up.

I said a lot. What I'm saying is self-censorship is still censorship. Little by little it is easy to end up in a highly censored society. Britain definitely feels like it is starting to go this way to me.

You said alot, but most of it went over my head since I really didn't feel like debating the issue. It's not you, it's me (hehe), I just didn't really feel like reading at the time. You do have a point though.

Lol, okay. We can just agree to disagree, I did see your point, it is an over reaction but is indicitive of a larger trend.

It's especially funny if you know Scarborough at all. Trust me - "Scarberia" has way scarier things than video game ads in it.

I like to think of it as the "Brixton" (sp?) of Toronto.

There seems to be a wave of pro-censorship in the developed World.

You don't have a right to not be afraid of things and you don't have a right not to be offended by things. This is because it is a small price to pay for freedom and more practically, fear and offence are so subjective that you cannot hope to avoid them in all circumstances.

This is similar to the case with the disabled presenter on a BBC children's channel where parent complained she was freighening their children:

[link]http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7906507.stm[/link]

I find people who want to cover the world in cotton wool for their children offensive. The world is scary, fear is an important part of social development, you're going to have to learn to deal with it sooner or later to manage in the world.

What's next, are they going to banish death because people are afraid of dying?
Probably because the general person can't use more than 1% of their brain and is scared and offended by everything.
