If it works correctly then this will be awesome, and that means something coming from a guy who hates neo-pets and tamagotchis. Hopefuly it will work better than the ps2 eyetoy(Billy's on the TV!). The part that got me is how it reflects your room in the game as opposed to a seperate world. The only problem is that I've never seen a TV with a table right up against it. As for the drawing, I'm sure there are some pre-set images that will come to life in 3d, but maybe you can draw your own design to be used a poster or something. You also have think about downloadable patches. As more and more people think of new designs, Sony can figure out just what they want and dedicate the team to those.

Reminds me a lot of the Aibo.

It's a cute animal thing.

It's supposed to respond to your touch (well, in this case, your virtual "touch").

It's got a bunch of pre-programmed special actions, accessed via the pictures; Aibo had cards that you could hold in front of its face to make it do stuff.

I'm betting that, by the time it's done, the virtual monkey will probably come with a small quantity of real objects that the camera is keyed to react to in special ways, like some kind of ball the monkey will chase or ride around on; Aibo had carefully color-coded balls and dog bones.

The big difference is the price. Aibo was a ridiculous waste of money for anyone other than robotics researchers. (And they would do nasty things to it anyway, like fill its little brain with Python and force it to crab-walk everywhere -- yeah, Aibos are just more stable that way.)

Pray, does it fling poo?
Well then, it's hardly a bloody monkey, then, is it?

It does remind me of Portamonkey:

I must admit, I thought this post will be about something else when I read the title. "Sony want me to do what, to my what?!?!?!"

It looks fun though, shame I probably will not get a chance to play it.

I wonder, if possible, would people people abuse their monkey.
