So as it turns out, the new cat likes to knock down the Christmas tree!

So I ask you fellow escapists; What would be a proper (and cat resistant) substitute for a Christmas tree.

My suggestion was a Christmas lamp in a corner somewhere (with a green bulb to be festive)

Your cat knocks down a full sized Christmas tree? Wow, I thought my roommate's cat was the devil for attacking computer monitors...

To be fair he's too smart for his own good...

my suggestion

Of course, though, a cat will try to take that too. After all, it's dangling there, all alone.

Get an unadorned aluminum festivus pole. It will make your home seasonal as you perform the airing of grievances and the feats of strength. Can't go wrong with that.

Get a christmas dog; your cat will probably think twice before nocking THAT over. Also I assure you it absolutely won't create a set of problems in and of itself... just wrap it up in some christmas lights and you're set

I've wanted to make a Christmas tree out of pipe cleaners for a few years now, but I think a cat would be even more likely to attack that so probably a bad idea. I would also suggest bolting the tree to the floor, but I doubt more than a handful of people would be willing to put permanent holes in the floor for just one tree.

I remember I had the same problem with my dog too, when he was a puppy he used to pull down the Christmas tree all the time. He's a puggle by the way

My suggestion? Maybe a wreath or something? I can't really think of any substitutes if your heart is set on a Christmas tree
