I love Doctor Strange, oh do I love him. I hope they will do his character justice... Liam Neeson has my vote.
Liam Neeson is Ras Al Ghul remember? Though that's a DC movie.

anyway, magic rocks, like The Prestige/Illusionist but with real magic Constantine style

I would like to see a Sorcerer Supreme movie. With the right actors and with a good director they might be able to make it really good. In my opinion I think Gary Oldman would be a good pick for the character.
Gary Oldman is comissioner Gordon
Eh, no reason Gary & Liam can't be multiple characters, it's not like the Marvel and DC characters are in remotely the same comic universe. Besides, Ryan Renolds is already both Deadpool and Green Lantern, and Chris Evans is somehow both Human Torch and Captain America.

That said, I'd love to see me some Dr. Strange. That would absolutely rock.

I'm sure that this will be a fine movie. Better than Ghostrider, but probably not even Incredible Hulk level...

Liam Neilson would make an excellent sorcerer supreme. Wonder if they're going to keep the big freestanding cloak hood.

Yeah I know, while it's nitpicking, it seems weird that Hollywood is running out of actors. It's not like Ryan Reynolds or Chris Evans are even A-listers anyway.

Maybe they got scared off my Brandon Routh's effect on Superman

There was a "Doctor Strange" TV movie a while back, and more recently, a direct-to-video animated feature.
The older movie was terrible. In the same class as the original Spider-Man movie from the 70's, the unreleased Fantastic Four movie and the original early 80's Captain America movies. That's right, movies. There was a sequel. Though, horrible as those movies are, they're even worse for wasting such a hilarious B-action star as Reb Brown.

You have to admit, though, it will be hard to see Dr. Strange in action at this point and not wonder when he'll dramatically announce that he had Taco Bell for lunch!

Wow! I would love seeing a movie about Dr. Strange! He's one of my favorite comic heroes, and his early stuff was a really good read :)

I think this could really work if they would drop all the dated 60/70's mysticism crap and stick with a more modern horror movie type ethos. I'm imagining something like House meets Dresden Files meets Hellraiser. That would be totally bad ass.

Also, they need to ditch the funny tights. I vastly prefer the more recent interpretation of Dr. Strange and the normal clothes look, and hell, even the character as written by Mark Waid (I'm actually dissapointed that Strange didn't pick up his own series again after the 4 parter Marvel released last novemember which was actually pretty damn good).

And for the record, along with nearly everyone else on the internet, I think Johnny Depp is a dead ringer for Dr. Strange and ought to be cast in whatever movie they do.
