So yesterday me and my buddy found Soul Calibur 2 in a pile of his old video games and decided "Hell, let's try it," First thing we jumped into a few multiplayer battles, learned a few combos then went to try out the campaign. I expected to to get maybe a quarter through the campaign but instead we finished in 2-3 hours. Is that it? Only 3 hours of gameplay? Is there more to Soul Calibur 2 than that? I have spent more time on solitaire!

Sorry for my grotesque grammar/punctuation.

There's an adventure mode where you have to unlock zillions of costumes, custom weapons, amps, gamemodes, characters and all kinds of stuff.
That will extend the gameplay with a few more hours.

Personally, I preferred SC1 on the DreamCast

And the soul calibur 4 campaign (if you can even call that a campaign).

And you must be seriously good at soul calibur because im still not done with that campaign (just one more fight).

I always considered it just a vs beat 'em up. the campaign thing I played only once to unlock the extras. No real point to it, then again, it's really just a minor distraction to the real game.

Yeah, there's an entire side-quest type thing in that game. You choose a starting character, a name, and go fight stuff, essentially. It can really increase the game play time, but it's pretty fun too

I never really got into Soul Calibur II...all I did was button mash.

How do you guys really get into a fighting game? I mean, do you really have to spend hours in the training arena, memorizing the combo screen to get any good?

I just can't be that committed to a fighting game.

The soul calibur series has been scientifically proven to be the most button mashey successful fighting game series ever.

It's not that hard to get into it. Just play with a friend, have fun learning moves by accident.

I don't remember Soul Calibur 2's campaign, but I do remember the annoying dungeons.

I personally liked the Soul Blade campaign. It had a lot that you could read about and that's why I used to know a lot about the Soul Calibur series.

I personally like Soul Blade better then most of the Caliburs. Even though the jumping was too much, it had a really good story mode.
