Soul Reaver 2 PC version.

I've been thinking about getting Soul Reaver 2 for the PC to complete my Legacy of Kain collection, but as its an old game I'm not sure if it'll work on Windows 7.
I know its a long shot, but does anyone with SR2 on PC know if it works straight away or if it needs patches and stuff to make it work?

I dunno, but it should. I hear that 7's compatibility mode actually works. So it shouldn't be a problem either way.

I played SR2 on PC, but that was back when I had Windows Me (millenium).
Later on, I think my lil bro played it on Xp as well.

It worked alright in both of these operating systems.
I can't comment on it working on it working on windows 7 though.

Heck, I don't see why it should be a problem. Although, just so you know, SR2 is only good for the story ... the graphics were nice but the gameplay is repetitive and compared to Soul Reaver, the puzzles were easy.

EDIT: Oh, I didn't need any patches to play it (on Xp and Me)

All that I've got on the game as soon as I load it up is just and purple screen and I've tried all the compatability modes. The sound works fine but I can't see a damn thing.

Some of the games have had known issues with certain graphics cards as well.

Just quoting in order to grab GodsAndFishes' attention since I doubt he'd notice this reply otherwise.

I'm curious as well anyway since I've been thinking about getting this series for the PC; I've only heard good things about it. Then again, figuring out how to get the game working is half the fun for the PC gamer.

It should work fine. It ran like a charm on my vista, so your windows 7 should have no trouble.

Won't work on my 7 install, but not had a go for a while. Might give it another try and post the results later on.

Soul Reaver 2 was fun, but had parts where it was like "You know what? I'm done!" then I'd come back to it a few days later and blast through the part I was annoyed at. I love/miss Legacy of Kain.

1)start>run
2)type regedit
3)choose HKEY_CURRENT_USER
4)choose software
5)choose Crystal Dynamics
6)choose Soul Reaver 2 then 1.00000
7)double click on a file called disablevshader....
8)change the value from 0 to 1


Hopefully that should fix your problem.
