I was just wondering how many people actually listen to the soundtracks to their favorite movies or games (I know games mostly just have background noise, but I'm sure there's a good handful that have original soundtracks).

I personally like the Red Dead Redemption soundtrack...though I can't think of any movie soundtracks at the moment.

Tron Legacy, Super Meat Boy and VVVVVV all have great soundtracks, I must say; they all have a nice home on my itunes playlists.

Movie soundtracks I might listen to here and there (Tron: Legacy = eargasm), but video game soundtracks are something I listen to very often. Although I'm not totally sure, my mp3 collection has to be 1/2-3/4ths video game soundtracks, featuring random pieces of excellence from games like Halo 3: ODST, Ace Combat 04 and 5, WipEout 1-3, TimeSplitters 1-3, Need For Speed 3&4, and numerous other games I can't list off the top of my head.

Hell, I go so far as having two YouTube playlists containing nothing but video game music I happen to enjoy (both can be viewed here [http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=F44EA24EECC91D04] and here [http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=B7600441AD0EBC48], for anyone curious).

You mean during the game or separate from the game? Not that I wouldn't say yes to both.

Music is just as important as anything else really.

AND now to resume my duty of bringing this up in every soundtrack thread I find:

Case closed.

All the time, nearly half the songs on my phone are soundtracks.

Although right now I love the music for Pokemon Black and white.

I've already beaten these guys (both times) but I love fighting them, again and again, just so I can listen to this song.

The cut scene before this encounter was just awesome and the music used for the actual battle was just as epic.

So you've reached end of the game, beat team plasma and you read the final words, the screen goes blank and then BOOM! this masterpiece plays as you sit back and enjoy your hard work. (Of course you still have one more thing to do.)

Finally and although I never played any of the games. The Hoenn elite 4 soundtrack is simply amazing. I heard the song, when my brother was playing Pokemon Ruby during a long car ride.

The Persona 4 soundtrack is always fun to put on in the backround when I'm doing something online.

Boss Battle theme rocks my socks:

Well, Distant Worlds I and II have to be my favorite video game collaboration of all time. And Doctor Who has the best television soundtrack in existence. Seriously, go listen to I am the Doctor and This is Galifrey. It made me watch all the seasons again.

The original Megaman's have awesome soundtracks. I used to listen to them in high school quite a bit. Megaman 2 intro theme = eargasm.
Agreed; I did a remix of the theme to the first Dr. Wily stage when I was learning LMMS. Should have chosen something less obvious, but what can you do

As for game music I own and actively listen to, the only one would be the soundtrack to the Scott Pilgrim game. Pure awesomeness.
