A friend of mine was recently appalled by the small number of source mods I had. Anybody have a recomendation? What's your favorite?

Resistance and Liberation is a good mod. It's in the alpha stages but it has a somewhat stable release to give you a taste of what it's like.

I actually enjoyed Insurgency but now I can't get it to run without it crashing Steam... Judging by the four servers I can see I'm not the only one with that problem.

I enjoyed Gary's mod but I haven't played with it in years.

I think maybe your Insurgency isn't updated or something, there was over a dozen full servers last I checked.

I've actually played RnL quite a bit, and love it. A little glitchy and too few people playing, but always fun.

I kinda liked age of chivalry...to slow maybe, fortress forever is cool, zombie panic is kinda hard for me(probably because I suck)..I licked minerva:metastasis(really cool mod). I loved a mod called jailbrak, but all servers are empty* me is want cry*

and mediocre ones u might like are: dystopia and fisful of frags

A while back (a few years) there was a dodgeball mod that I really, really liked. I'm sure it's dead now, though. I always recommend The Battlegrounds at http://www.bgmod.com/. Very fun American Revolution mod. Age of Chivalry feels a little sluggish for my taste, but Pirates Vikings and Knights is quite good.

Zombie panic is awesome when playing with friends, the lols that can be had...

A mod I really did enjoy was Eternal Silence, which was basically the space levels from the Starwars: Battlefront 2 game. Haven't played it for ages though so not sure if its still alive.

Oh my god, RnL is fantastic. It's kinda like Red Orchestra, in that it strips down your HUD, but it's definitely a lot more fun than DoD.

If you're in the mood for a singleplayer thing that's pretty decent, why not give City 7: Toronto Conflict [http://www.torontoconflict.com/] a shot? It's not fantastic, but it's decent.

And what the hell happened to Project Hull Breach [http://www.hull-breach.com/]? It sounded so awesome, but it doesn't even look like they have a website anymore...
